Unclaimed Property

Walmart sends letters to customers and associates for unclaimed property.

Unclaimed properties are funds (E.g., uncashed checks, unredeemed promotional credit, etc.) by the owner for a period of time as defined by state law.

Unclaimed Property Letter Sample Text:
Our records indicate we are in possession of the property subject to your State of residence’s (as shown above) unclaimed property law.

If you wish to claim these funds and prevent this property from being turned over to the State as required by law: Please sign, print current address, include one copy of Proof of Ownership (see Frequently Asked Questions on the back of this letter for a list of accepted documents) and return to our office by xx/xx/xx. If any of these steps are not completed by the date previously listed, this property will be remitted to the State. You will then need to contact the State’s Unclaimed Property Division directly to claim your property.

How to Claim Your Property

If you’ve received an unclaimed property letter from us and want to claim your property, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the form.
  2. Collect the required proof of ownership documents.
  3. Return the form by mail or email using these details:
