- Driver allegedly shot and woman killed in crash
A man has been charged over a terrifying incident that saw a driver shot and a woman killed in a six-car crash on the Bruce Highway.
The 41-year-old was arrested following the incident at Palmview, north of Brisbane, at midday on Easter Monday.
The man is alleged to have been behind the wheel of a Porsche Macan when he lost control and caused the pile-up.
A 62-year-old driver who stopped to help others involved in the crash was allegedly shot in the arm by the Porsche driver who then took off with his SsangYong Rexton.
The Rexton was later found on Steve Irwin Way at Landsborough where the driver allegedly approached a Mazda 3 with a 16-year-old girl and her parents inside of it.
He was arrested at 12.50pm at the intersection of Steve Irwin Way and Forestry Road, with cops allegedly finding a gun inside the car.
The 62-year-old owner of the Rexton was rushed to Sunshine University Coast Hospital to be treated for his injury.
A 22-year-old woman who was in a Nissan Micra, which was involved in the six-car pile-up, died while another driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
