Patrice Evra has called out his age-old foe Luis Suarez to fight in a mixed martial arts bout next month. Evra, 43, hung up his boots in July 2019, having made 734 senior football appearances, winning 20 trophies in 21 years. Meanwhile, Suarez is still at it in the MLS, playing for David Beckham-owned Inter Miami alongside Lionel Messi and Co. Since his retirement, Evra's off-the-pitch escapades have included punditry, business ventures, and his emergence as a social media personality. But, six years on from football, Evra has switched the boots for gloves and will try his hand at mixed martial arts.

Eubank Jr was hit with a £375,000 penalty after tipping the scales just half an ounce over the limit. He is now at risk of losing more of his £7million purse if he weighs over 170 pounds on the morning of the fight. The weight stipulations have contributed to anxieties around the fight, which was initially cancelled in 2022 over Benn's failed tests for clomifene. Under the original agreement, Eubank Jr, who has campaigned as high as super-middleweight, had agreed to meet at a catchweight of 157 pounds.

Novak Djokovic let his frustrations fly in a practice session with Andy Murray ahead of the Madrid Open this weekend. Djokovic opens his account at the tournament when he faces Matteo Arnaldi in the round of 64 on Saturday, as he continues his search for a 100th career ATP title.  He is looking to bounce back from a shock first-round exit at the hands of Alejandro Tabilo at the Monte-Carlo Masters earlier this month, and a defeat by Jakub Mensik at the Miami Open final 10 days prior.

Luis Figo has left his family home and moved into a rental property, and is living a 'separate life' from his wide Helene Svedin, according to reports in Spain. Figo was present at the Laureus Awards in Spain earlier this week, where he named the 'best' things in his life, in which he named his daughters Daniela, Martina and Stella, but not his wife.  Over the years, he has attended the award ceremony in the company of Svedin, but this year was reportedly pictured leaving his new residence alone in Madrid.
