A Coronation Street star has confirmed that they have left the ITV soap for good - and that their 'last ever' scenes have already aired.

Actor Scott Anson - who plays baddie Reece Bolton - first appeared on the Cobbles back in October 2022.

And unfortunately, after three years on the soap and appearing in 32 episodes, his stint in Weatherfield has come to an end.

His alter-ego Reece was a part of Max Turner's (Paddy Bever) storyline which involved grooming him into his far-right extremist group.

Wednesday night marked his last day on the show and he took to social media to share the news with fans.

Sharing some snaps of his on-screen daughter Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) visiting him in prison, he wrote on Instagram: 'Catch my very last ep as Reece Bolton @coronationstreet.'

'It's great to se you princess,' Reece told Lauren.

She replied: 'Like I was ever your princess.

'I was a child benefit cheque with a dirty neck skitted at school.'

Reece said: 'Kids can be cruel.'

Lauren told her dad: 'Yeah, well, parents can be rubbish and all.'

He told her: 'Look if I had my time again, there's a lot I'd do different. I'm man enough to admit it.'

Lauren fumed: 'What? That you wouldn't pump me out to your mates?'

'Overactive imagination, that's your trouble,' he said back to her.

She told him that she wasn't imagining it and that she remembers it was in a flat in Burnage when she  was 11.

He told her: 'Look if my mates got a bit handsy... I'm sorry about that kid.'

'Well you're in prison now, so at least that is something,' Lauren told her dad.

She then told him that she doesn't want him to go near her son Frankie and after he inferred that they weren't even related, she left the prison.

Corrie isn't the only show that Scott has appeared in.

Over the years he's starred as Daniel in Emmerdale, Sean McCardle in Hollyoaks and Rick Stratten in The Bill.

Some other programmes include Last Chance Harvey, Brothers and Heart.

And while Scott has left, another star has returned to the Cobbles.

A major Coronation Street star is finally returning to the ITV soap months after an unexplained absence which left fans demanding answers.

Many will be over the moon to know that Gary Windass (Mikey North) will be back on the Cobbles next week.

Debt collector Gary was last on our screens in January when Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) died after he was stabbed by his brothers Matty (Harry Lowbridge) and Logan (Seamus McGoff).

But in a recent tweet shared by the show's official X account, they have confirmed that Gary will be back.

The page shared a picture of Gary and Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) in the Bistro having a catch up.

They wrote on the post: 'Next week: Carl makes a move on Abi, Maria fears Mick is bad news and Daisy says goodbye to Weatherfield.'
