Former footballer and current Sky soccer pundit Jamie Redknapp was banned from driving for twelve months today for clocking-up multiple speeding offences.

It was the 51 year-old ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC star's second driving ban for speeding, meaning he was disqualified for twice the usual length of time.

The former England international, who lives in a six-bedroom £10.5m house in Kensington, did not appear at Bexley Magistrates Court.

He pleaded guilty in advance of the hearing and declared his income to the court as £9,230 per week.

Redknapp pleaded guilty to exceeding the 20mph limit on June 26, last year on the A219 Putney Hill, near the junction of Westleigh Avenue, Putney, where a camera snapped him doing 26mph.

He also admitted exceeding the 50mph limit on November 2, last year on the M4 near Burghfield, Reading, where he was caught driving at 58mph.

On both occasions Redknapp was driving a brand new black electric Audi Q8.

The ten-minute hearing was told Redknapp currently has twelve penalty points on his licence and today's penalty points were his second 'totting' offence.

He racked up the rest of his penalty points from three other speeding offences.

An offence on May 2, 2023, saw him receive three points, another on March 5 last year landed him six points and a further three were added for yet another speeding incident on March 15 last year.

He was informed he was liable to disqualification via post prior to the hearing.

Today, he was fined total of £292; plus £200 costs and was ordered to pay a £116 victim surcharge.

'As a totter for the second time the defendant is disqualified from driving for twelve months from now and the total fines and costs has to be paid within twenty-eight days and we make a collection order,' announced bench chairwoman Daniele Spens.

His first ban in November 2015 saw him barred from the roads for six months after he was sentenced for a series of driving offences culminating in a him speeding in a Bentley on the M25.

At the time, the court heard how a temporary 50mph speed restriction was in place on a stretch of the motorway - between junction 10 and 11 on the M25, between Chertsey and Wisley - limiting motorists to 50mph.

The father-of-two confessed to exceeding the 50mph limit on April 15, 2015, as he drove his flash motor between the junctions, although it was not revealed what his exact speed was.

JPs decided to ban Redknapp after noting that 'disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending'.

He was previously fined £60 and had three points put on his licence for doing 66mph in a 50mph zone in a Mercedes on the A3 in Hook, Surrey, in March 2010.

It comes after his ex-wife, singer and TV star Louise, was banned from the roads for six months in December.

She was pulled over by cops for using her phone at the wheel on her way back home from the school run.

The court heard the 50-year-old had been trying to find an alternative route on a Sat Nav app to dodge traffic when she was caught.

She pleaded guilty to using a handheld mobile phone while driving, and was sentenced at Crawley magistrates court to a six-month driving ban.

In June 2013, Louise received three points on her licence for doing 61mph in a 50mph zone in Surrey.

Jamie Redknapp's oldest son Mark was fined £5,000 and banned from driving for three years in November 2019 after being found guilty of driving whilst high on cocaine.
