A Wimbledon fan has uncovered a handy trick for getting around the event's public ballot system to snap up tickets for the exact match or day you want.Ā
The ballot, which opened on Monday morning, allows tennis fans to enter into a draw for a chance to buy tickets to the London event.Ā
However, successful applicants are randomly allocated places and it is not possible to choose a specific match, day, court or seat.Ā
But those who have entered the ballot in previous years have discovered some handy tricks for scoring access to the matches they prefer.Ā
As such, there's good news for those who miss out on tickets in the ballot as they are then apparently able to shop the resale tickets for specific matches.Ā
Fans shared their suggestions after one person turned to Reddit to ask for advice on the best way to secure tickets.Ā

'I suggest signing up for the public ballot and praying not to get in. That means you will enter the resale,' one user explained.Ā
'In the resale, you have the opportunity even to get finals tickets. Of course, you would need to be quick to get them, but there are a few bots you can subscribe to get alerts when tickets are available.'
Another warned against registering multiple ballots to one residential address to increase chances of getting a ticket which is against the entry terms.Ā
'Enter it once. Statistically, you're like to miss out but that gives you access to the resale ballot, and more flexibility it choosing which day/court you go to,' they answered.
'If you do get a ballot place you get what you're given, no choice but accept or return and try again next year. I've been every year the last decade with resale.'
'This, 100 per cent I have been most years since 2012 due to a combination of Wimbledon ballot, LTA ballot and resale. Please don't 'cheat' the system,' someone else replied.Ā

'It's an advantage to not be successful in the ballots as you have choice of days and court for the resale. If you win, you must accept the ones you're given or not go at all, ie if you reject the offer, you can't go on the resale,' another agreed.Ā
