LAWRENCE BOOTH: Brendon McCullum has been named as England's new white-ball coach after managing director Rob Key decided to unite the jobs following the sacking of Matthew Mott. McCullum will remain as head coach of the Test team, and will not take charge of the limited-overs sides until the white-ball tour of India early next year, quickly followed by the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. His ECB contract has been extended by a year, until the end of 2027. Marcus Trescothick, meanwhile, will still take charge on an interim basis of the white-ball series at home to Australia this month and the tour of the Caribbean in late October, before handing over to McCullum in early 2025....read
