Joey is a supporting character in Bistro Huddy. He first appeared as a cook in the episode How Cooks Answer Questions.

Personality

Joey is rough, loud, often angry, and he rules Bistro Huddy's kitchen with an iron fist. He often yells at servers for even the smallest things, especially when the restaurant is busy. He has a reputation for being disloyal and flirting with or dating women who work at the restaurant. The only exception to this in recent years has been the hostess, Amber, who often gets special treatment.

Outfit / Appearance

Joey has short black hair. He is usually wearing his uniform, a white chef coat with the Bistro Huddy logo branded in black on the chest with his name and the words "Executive Chef" printed below it, along with a black kitchen hair net. He wears a cream shirt under his chef coat.

Before Bistro Huddy got their branded uniforms, his uniform consisted of a plain white shirt and a black kitchen hair net.

Amber

Joey is dating Amber, a hostess at Bistro Huddy. Before they started dating, he would visit the host stand multiple times during a shift in order to flirt with Amber. Very early on, he'd go up to ask about reservations, at first, and then steer the conversation into calling her beautiful. The kitchen staff tease him mercilessly for this. According to Ruby, he'd go up to see her three times in an hour, or every twenty minutes. He sometimes gives the kitchen's failed orders to Amber as a gift, though he presents it like he made it special for her. He's quick to reassure her that she's doing great when she comes into the kitchen apologizing. He also seems to know already when her break is. Joey unsubtly leans forward to watch as she leaves.

When apologizing to Amber in The Chef & His Hostess Girlfriend, Part 3, he said that he considers her a 12/10.

Glenda

Glenda is one of Joey's ex-wives.

Friends / Positive Relationships

Nico

Nico is one of the line cooks at Bistro Huddy, making Joey his boss. As back-of-house staff, they have a good rapport and often stand united against the front-of-house staff.

Joey was the one who interviewed Nico for a job at Bistro Huddy. When Nico correctly answered that Joey's secret ingredient is cumin, he hired him on the spot.

Joey once bailed Nico out of jail on Christmas Eve. As of Labor Shortage, the next year, Nico still hadn't paid him back.

Joey bailed Nico out of jail once more during a date with Amber.

Pickles

Pickles is one of the line cooks at Bistro Huddy, making Joey his boss. As back-of-house staff, they have a good rapport and often stand united against the front-of-house staff. Joey might yell at Pickles for fucking up, but he also defends him when other people yell at him.

Joey was the one who interviewed Pickles for a job at Bistro Huddy. Due to desperation, he decided to hire him as a dishwasher.

Bridgette

Joey and Bridgette are friendly, and Joey has made a point of flirting with her in the past. Joey doesn't yell at Bridgette when she makes a mistake, because she brings the kitchen donuts every Sunday and energy drinks throughout the week.

When Bridgette was almost scammed into marriage by a fortune hunter, Joey drove himself, Nico and Pickles to Las Vegas to save her.

One time, when a guest made Bridgette cry, Joey scolded the guest and made him apologize for being rude to her.

Other Relationships

Trick

Joey is Trick's father. Joey was absent for most of Trick's childhood, including lying to Trick that he was there for his sixth birthday. The only given explanation for this is that Joey was working most of the time. In adulthood, they have a push-and-pull relationship, with Joey disapproving of Trick's behavior but supporting him when he's in need. Before Trick was hired, he and Joey must have still been in contact, as they arrange for Trick to show up at the restaurant to get a shirt and tie for a court hearing. It's implied that Joey has hired Trick before given that Joey calls out Trick for a "bad attitude, no-shows and stealing". At times, Trick also backs up Joey. He was almost immediately able to tell that Joey was dating Amber when Trick met her. He also notes that Amber is the first person he's ever seen Joey apologize to.

• Joey had the personalized Bistro Huddy chef coats custom made for the kitchen staff.
• Joey likes heavy metal music.
• In a zombie apocalypse, Joey would choose Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation to have his back.
• Joey has been married twice, both ending in divorce. He has at least 2 children – one called Patrick, nicknamed "Trick". He himself states he has one, however, Nicole implies he has multiple.
• Joey has said bad parenting is raising kids to talk about their feelings instead of just hitting them. As he then calls himself a bad parent, it's implied this was how Joey raised Trick, but not how Joey was raised.
