
All three banks now allow customers who use their mobile apps to pay money into their accounts this way. Once a customer logs in to their mobile app they must look for the option in to ‘pay in cheques’.
In a major overhaul of its current accounts, Lloyds will be getting rid of all fees for unauthorised overdrafts from November. The changes also apply at Halifax and Bank of Scotland. It comes after years of campaigning for a crackdown on banks that use crippling overdraft fees to fill their coffers.
With new easier current account switching rules coming into force last month, many more customers may now be inclined to switch bank. But there are always going to be winners and losers amongst the banks and building societies. Specialist research firm TNS has today released the findings from its current account switching index and has crowned Santander and Nationwide as the real winners in the last 12 months.
M&S Bank will reduce the monthly fee on its Premium Current Accounts for new and existing customers, just as the seven day switching rules come into force. The bank, which is operating under a joint venture from Marks and Spencer and HSBC, is trimming the monthly fee on its Premium Current Account by a third from £15 to £10 on Monday.
