Wenlei Ma The Nightly (AU) The one thing you can always count on is the continued evolution of two incredibly complex characters and their relationship. The show never lets us down on this front. You love to see it. Apr 22, 2025 Full Review David Mack Slate Hacks remains one of the most joke-dense shows on television. The episodes are a riot. Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya Autostraddle Hacks injects enough specificity in the subplots and their surroundings to keep the game feeling fresh. Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Dónal Lynch Sunday Independent (Ireland) By all means watch it for the art-imitating-life-imitating art dimensions, but don’t believe the hosannas of hype. Hacks is just plain old hacky. Rated: 2/5 Apr 20, 2025 Full Review Cory Woodroof For the Win (USA Today) Hacks remains as gloriously acidic and hearteningly complicated as ever. Apr 20, 2025 Full Review Tara Ariano Cracked As all-consuming as this relationship can be, watching it would be exhausting if the show wasn’t so funny. Blake B The best show on TV. So much character development. Rated 5 out of 5 stars04/24/25 Full Review Audience Member The first two seasons were terrific but the show has seem to lost its mojo. The tension between Ava and Debra seems too forced. The plot seems to have become not believable. It's a shame. The first two seasons I gave 5 stars . Rated 2 out of 5 stars04/24/25 Full Review Jessica T Only sporadically funny with 60% of the show being bad drama now. The comedian characters are only funny when they aren’t trying to be so you kinda have to take their word that the characters are funny comedians. Rated 2 out of 5 stars04/23/25 Full Review Taj M Hacks is definitely an enjoyable way to pass time -- but for a comedy that's also about comedy, it's not particularly funny. The scenes with Jimmy and Kayla are usually a riot, but the rest is just smile-worthy. That's more so a problem with the writing -- the acting, particularly Jean Smart, is fantastic. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars04/20/25 Full Review SM M Hacks is a brilliant show, with sharp humor with emotional depth. The characters are well-developed, and relatable storylines that The acting is outstanding, particularly from Jean Smart, who delivers a masterclass in both comedy and drama. A compelling, thoughtful exploration of evolving relationships and careers. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars04/20/25 Full Review Helena O Jean Smart is perfection. She and Hannah Einbinder are magic together. Rated 5 out of 5 stars04/18/25 Full Review Read all reviews
