Phil Hoad Guardian There is little that is new here for connoisseurs of the likes of My Hero Academia. But it is underpinned by a pressing social anxiety... And Kamiya and Miya execute it all with an addictive punky relish. Rated: 4/5 Apr 15, 2025 Full Review Carrie McClain Black Nerd Problems Kaiju No. 8 does a fine job in reminding us of the humanity of these characters we’ve come to be attached to. Apr 17, 2025 Full Review Ayaan Paul Chowdhury The Hindu The action sequences are glorious, blending parkour-style movement with meaty, Godzilla-meets-Evangelion chaos. There’s a real sense of scale here, and it plays better on the big screen... Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Martín Fernández Cruz La Nación (Argentina) There are dramatic moments, there is action, but there is also humor and a need for formal experimentation only possible in an audiovisual production from Japan. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Apr 10, 2025 Full Review Christopher Cross Asynchronous Media Suffering from many of the downfalls of the omnibus film, Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon makes up for those with tremendous set pieces and a compelling wrinkle in its narrative that unfortunately fails to be adequately addressed before the credits roll. Rated: 3/5 Apr 9, 2025 Full Review Cain Noble-Davies FILMINK (Australia) The characters are compelling, the soundtrack is over-the-top but in a fitting way for a show about humans fighting giant monsters trying to eat them, and the action is eight different shades of badass. Daniel If youve seen the series then Id skip this film. The additional 20 mins at the end is essentially a filler Rated 1 out of 5 stars04/20/25 Full Review RAMON S While I was a little disappointed with the content, it was still pretty good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars04/20/25 Full Review Nicholas it was good i’m just kinda upset it was a recap of the first season but it was cool they added a special episode at the end Rated 3 out of 5 stars04/18/25 Full Review Hunter It was a great movie to prepare for season 2 and I loved the Hoshina's day off mini movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars04/18/25 Full Review Edem New episode was literally Vice captains day off Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars04/17/25 Full Review DecStar if you've never seen the series before its a good watch. But This is just a poorly cut hour and 40 min recap of the series and a 24 min filler episode thrown in, waist of money to watch in theaters. it'll be on Crunchyroll by the end of the month before the series new season. completely wasted 2 hours of my life for this. Appreciate it Crunchyroll. Rated 1 out of 5 stars04/17/25 Full Review Read all reviews
