A Quiet Place artfully plays on elemental fears with a ruthlessly intelligent creature feature that's as original as it is scary -- and establishes director John Krasinski as a rising talent.

J. R. Jones Chicago Reader A familiar premise is redeemed by a nifty gimmick in this suspenseful horror thriller. Mar 5, 2020 Full Review Robert Daniels 812filmreviews But the difficulty does not lie in the lack of verbiage, but in our prohibitions. We're an ableist society, often fearful of the "arduous" journey that comes with empathizing with the deaf. Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Perri Nemiroff Collider Video Sure, it's just a movie but A Quiet Place is so effective that you'll be deathly afraid of making a sound - just like the main characters. Rated: 9/10 Apr 25, 2018 Full Review Justin Kim Loud and Clear Reviews Think back to the time when you tried sneaking a midnight snack at high while everyone’s asleep. Now imagine if your family had the hearing of Daredevil, and getting caught will get you grounded from life. That’s basically A Quiet Place. Eric I don’t get how this movie is giving too much praise. What a downgrade compared to the previous films smh Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars07/11/24 Full Review Valentin C La pelicula sabe crear tensión sin casi haber sonido, es interesante, la actuación es muy buena, sobretodo la de John Krasinki, supo generar sensaciones de impotencia incluso, pero para bien, la película logro pegarme algun que otro susto, la recomiendo totalmente es muy digna de ver. Rated 4 out of 5 stars04/25/25 Full Review Chief B Another one of those overrated horror scifi movies of the last 10 years. I don't want an explanation for everythjng in every movie because it's not always necessary and doesn't add to the movie. But I feel that this movie does need an explanation about certain things. Thingd I can't spoil here. It has some great moments and the acting and atmosphere of the movie is great but I still feel something is missing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars04/15/25 Full Review Adam C Garbage movie, not scary at all. There is no tension, no fear. They don’t develop the world at all, it’s just a bunch of people walking around, why doesn’t the movie actually develop a deafened world, like have a white noise machine constantly play in some area so that eventually the aliens learn it’s not human, then humans can move in, guarded by the white noise. There is nothing interesting in this movie, except a bunch of dumbass characters, wtf is wrong with that sister? She gave her brother batteries to a frickin spaceship toy and it got him killed. Worst sister ever. There is no reason the militaries of the world couldn’t kill these things. Not only that but how can the alien hear you from miles away, but not hear your heartbeat when you are in the same room? It’s a bs movie that isn’t scary or interesting at all. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars04/08/25 Full Review myriam k A Quiet Place is a horror drama film directed by John Krasinski. It stars Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, and it was released in 2018. I enjoyed this film because it was powerful and emotional in many aspects. The film features a family that must live in silence because dangerous creatures are hunting them and can detect them by sound. The family speaks sign language, and they are trying to survive throughout the film. I’m going to touch on the acting. All of the actors do a fantastic job, especially the children. I will say Millicent Simmonds is the most convincing. Next, I want to mention the film techniques. The silence and camera work make the film very intense and full of suspense. I would then touch on the themes. Family, love, and survival are present and powerful in the film. I would recommend this movie. It is different, emotional, and very powerful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars03/27/25 Full Review Dimitris T The mid-apocalyptic world of A Quiet Place truly stands out in the horror genre. The laws of this world are simply and their implications as to the behavior of the characters are very precisely addressed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars03/24/25 Full Review Read all reviews
