Custom Metadata

For Local files and AWS S3, complete the following instructions to add Custom Metadata when creating a Data Asset.

For this example, a Data Asset is created from Local files.

1. Click +New Data

2. Select Local files
3. Click Choose Files

1. Select the files and click Open.

The files are added.

1. Click Custom Metadata

The dropdown menus provide choices to populate the Custom Metadata. These configurations can be added or removed by the Administrator to provide additional options to customize the choices, keep track of conditions, and maintain reproducibility.

1. Click Create Data Asset when all the required fields are populated.

To view the Custom Metadata

1. Navigate to My Data

2. From the list, click the Data Asset to which the Custom Metadata was added.

3. From the Data Details pane on the right side of the screen, click Custom Metadata to view the metadata.

   The new Data Asset from local files is displayed with the metadata.
