New accessibility resources and community initiatives
Hey folks! At Fandom, it’s an important mission for us to help your wikis grow and be safe spaces for all users. A significant part of that is promoting web accessibility across the platform. In case you don’t know what this means (which is totally fine!), this is making sure your wiki content can be consumed by more readers, regardless of disability. I recently held a roundtable with the Fandom Stars to discuss the importance of web accessibility, which happens to be a close topic to my heart too. They provided some super helpful feedback on what Fandom can do to help wikis foster accessible best practices. With that in mind, I have some recent developments I’d like to share!
Accessible best practice has always been high in our minds at Fand…
Introducing the Admin Code of Conduct
Hello all!
It has been a while since I last posted here - I hope you have all been well!
As part of my work here at Fandom, I have spent the past few months looking deep into our platform policies & guidelines. (Hint: we have a lot!) I have been looking at what we cover, what we don’t cover, & how we can protect users from bad actors & bad experiences.
One point we needed more coverage on was our expectations toward wiki admins. We have (checks list) blogs, guidelines, Discord interactions, etc. - Fandom’s expectations of users who hold admin rights on a wiki (or multiple wikis) are wildly all over the place.
The Trust & Safety team has been working to try to solve this tangle, & we are taking our first step by releasing a new policy called th…

Celebrating Trans Day of Visibility 2025
- “We have to do it because we can no longer stay invisible. We have to be visible. We should not be ashamed of who we are. We have to show the world that we are numerous. There are many of us out there.” - Sylvia Rivera
- Sylvia Rivera was a transgender rights activist who was also a noted community worker in New York.

Happy Trans Day of Visibility, everyone!
March 31st is Transgender Day of Visibility, or TDOV for short. Let's recognize the contributions and celebrate the lives of trans people around the world. Trans people have always existed and come from places all over the world. They are of every race and color, every religion and nationality. We all have loved ones in our lives that are special to us. Regardless of who we are, we are all …

Off-Platform with Fandom: 20th Anniversary Roundtable (Transformers, South Park, Pro Wrestling & Dragon Ball)
Welcome to "Off-Platform with Fandom", a segment where users on the Fandom platform come together to have a conversation off the platform. I’m Miller, a Community Manager for Entertainment with Fandom and we’re here on Community Central, the central community hub of the Fandom platform to bring you an off-platform conversation.
Question, have you ever been a fan of something to the point that you decide to research all you can about what you’re fanboying over? It can lead you down a rabbit hole to experience and explore all that you wanted to know about your fandom… all of it… from the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly truths that might crush our childhood spirits. You understand what I mean, right?
In this blog, you’re going to meet four am…

My Farewell to Fandom
One of my all-time favorite episodes of television is “All Good Things...,” the series finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation. It reflected the idea that all good things must come to an end, wrapped up an incredible chapter of storytelling in a neat bow, and left room for bigger and better adventures yet to come.
In that spirit, I have some news to share with the community: tomorrow, February 28th, will be my last day as a member of Fandom Staff. I’ve worked at Fandom for 15 years, and as Fandom seeks to chart a new course to boldly go where no one has gone before (note my continued love for a good Star Trek reference) in how it supports communities, it’s time for me to head off on a new adventure of my own.
As I look back on my experiences, …
