I've been trying to solve this for days, looking for tutorials on YT but still haven't found a solution. I want to use the SubDivision modifier for this, but stuck at the edgeflow.

    You can begin with a 8 vertex cylinder, duplicate to create the boolean object:

    Apply the Boolean modifir:

    Cut these edges with the Knife tool:

    Bevel these edges:

    Once you give it a Subdivision Surface modifier:
