Ralph Fiennes, born 22 December 1962, is the British actor who portrayed Gareth Mallory who took over the role of M at the end of Skyfall. He reprised his role in Spectre and No Time To Die.
Fiennes also originally auditioned and was considered for roles in the 007 series in 1994 and 2004.
Outside of the James Bond films, Fiennes is well known for his role as Voldemort (Tom Riddle Jr.) in the Harry Potter films from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:Part 2as well as Amon Goeth in Schindler's List, Count Laszlo de Almásy in The English Patient and Rameses in The Prince of Egypt. He also played John Steed in a 1998 film based upon the TV series The Avengers (which also featured Sean Connery); as such he is the fourth actor with a lead role in The Avengers (after Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee) to appear in a Bond film.
