This book doesn't mention what dialect of BASIC should be used... is it oldskool stuff like QuickBASIC/GW-BASIC or newer things like gambas/VisualBasic?

Hello, I will be spending much time editing this page. I have been programming since the age of eight, starting with C++. Over the course of the next month I will be reorganizing, perfecting everything and bringing it some synchronization. Some of these updates include changing all examples to one variant of Basic, as of now there is DarkBASIC qBASIC and freeBASIC examples floating around (I will be converting them all to freeBASIC, since it is free and commonly used).

Note: I hope I am using this discussion right.. This is my first Wiki Editing Expereince =]

I have possibility to help you, but since im only 12 years old and im talking Estonian, it may be hard. I think, I have MEDIUM rank in Basic, I use Liberty Basic myself. I'm trying to create my own operationsystem(OS) into Windows, and it's only 5% built. About helping, needful?
