Vol. 1 Issue 8 | October 4th-8th (Fall Break 10/7 - 10/11)
MHSHS would like to congratulate and recognize our Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Recipients. Our Advanced Placement (AP) has experienced growth in terms of both opportunities and outcomes. In terms of growth, we have expanded our course offerings from 13 to 21 courses. In terms of outcome, we have increased our AP student course enrollment, student participation in exams, and the number of students earning AP Scholar Awards. We are excited to share that we have doubled our AP scholars from five to ten students in one year!
Please join us in congratulating our current students Kenney Banegas, Tri Do, Elizabeth Garcia, Nishat Kayum, Ammar Razzak, Adolfo Ruiz Padron, and Anamika Sharif! We will celebrate their success on Friday, October 1, 2021, during lunch. Special thanks to our AP teachers for their commitment to ensuring our students model the AP theme "Reach Ahead!"

You are invited to take GCPS communications survey
School district partners—families, staff, and community members—are encouraged to participate in GCPS’ online School Communication Performance Evaluation (SCoPE) survey to share their feedback on the effectiveness of communication at the class, school, and district levels. The survey is part of a districtwide Communications Audit that is being conducted by an outside organization—the National School Public Relations Association. The audit is designed to provide district leaders with a snapshot of current communication efforts, the climate for communication, the issues and image perceptions the district is facing, and the communication needs and preferences of GCPS’ audiences. Participants will be asked to share how they prefer to receive information, the effectiveness of the communication they receive, and their perceptions related to communication and GCPS. In the spirit of continuous improvement, district and school leaders will use survey results, along with feedback from 40 focus groups and additional interviews, to increase the effectiveness of communication to support our families, students, and staff. The survey is open Sept. 20-Oct. 4.
Participate in the survey by Oct. 4!
