Simple Modern’s extra-large bag is just like Bogg and Crocs, but fans say it’s a winner thanks to 2 features

Simple Modern is known for its trendy tumblers and kid-friendly water bottles, but the brand also makes a top-rated beach tote that fans might like even better than the competition.

You can shop the Simple Modern Extra Large Getaway Bag for $75 on Amazon, which is $15 to $25 cheaper than the Large Original Bogg Bag and the same price as Croc’s Classic Tote.

But a few of the colors, like Purple Breeze, Velvet Pink, and Supersonic Blue are on limited-time sale for $64, and you’ll want to grab them fast.

Similarly to the Bogg and Crocs totes, the Simple Modern Getaway Bag is crafted from durable, waterproof and easy-wash, wipe-clean EVA material.

It has a treaded bottom for tip-proof traction. And, like its contemporaries, it comes with a detachable and water-resistant interior zipper pocket to keep your essentials safe and secure.

But according to TikTok videos comparing all three, the Simple Modern bag is lighter and thinner.

Based on Amazon product call outs, the extra large size weighs three pounds versus Bogg’s five pound large tote, so its “lightweight” reputation does hold water.

And while the silhouette is shorter than Bogg’s and Crocs’ versions (see below for the dimension comparisons), it has the other two bags beat in depth/main compartment size.

With two more inches of depth, the Simple Modern Getaway Bag could theoretically hold more items than the Crocs Classic Tote and Bogg’s Original Bogg Bag.

Since the other dimensions are similar, but the EVA construction is thinner on the Simple Modern, it bodes well for the Getaway Bag to be more flexible than the other brands. You could max out your tote with a couple more towels, books, water bottles, etc. than you ever might be able to fit naturally in a more rigid/structured bag.

And speaking of “more rigid,” fans of Simple Modern’s Getaway also love that the bag’s straps “fold flat, don’t twist, and stay down when not in use.” This is a sticky point that many beach-goers have about the Bogg.

One reviewer shares “I was torn between this and the Bogg and I’m sooooo happy I went with the Simple Modern bag!” They go on to address Simple Modern’s advantages, mentioning “first for the cost, it’s about $20 cheaper [than the Bogg] so that was a plus, but honestly for me it was the straps and the way the bag lays against your body.”
