Shedeur Sanders is still be without an NFL home entering Day 3 of the 2025 draft.
Sanders — Colorado’s polarizing star quarterback and Deion Sanders’ son — went undrafted late into Friday night, as Round 3 wound down.
Five quarterbacks have been picked — Cam Ward at No. 1, Jaxson Dart at No. 25 to the Giants, Tyler Shough in Round 2, and Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel in Round 3.
As all that unfolded, Sanders tweeted this: “Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING”
So Sanders is doing his best to stay positive amid a challenging (to say the least) situation.
After Sanders posted that tweet, the Browns took Gabriel.
Even the draft analysts who had their doubts about Sanders — and what type of professional quarterback he might be — did not project him going behind Gabriel.
The Browns picking Gabriel over Sanders only continued an already wild fall for Sanders in this draft, as quarterback-needy team after quarterback-needy team has passed on him — multiple times.
There were plenty of pre-draft concerns about Sanders and how he would fit in the NFL — particularly with the Giants.
They wound up passing on him twice in Round 1. They picked edge rusher Abdul Carter at No. 3 and opted for Dart at No. 25 after trading up nine spots and surrendering two third-round picks (including one in 2026) in the process.
The draft concludes Saturday with Rounds 4-7. Might Sanders go completely undrafted? At this point, nothing can be ruled out.
