Peter Jackson on controversy over Hobbit’s groundbreaking tech

02:12

“The Hobbit” Director Peter Jackson addresses the controversy over his decision to film “The Lord of the Rings” prequel at a faster frame rate of 48 frames per second, a first for a major motion picture. Most films are recorded at 24 frames per second.  Some filmgoers have said the higher frame rate has left them feeling dizzy and sick. Jackson says the film immerses the viewer and presents a clarity never seen on movie screens before. NBC News’ Ann Curry’s interview with Jackson airs Thursday, Dec. 6 at 10pm/9c on NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams.
