In fact, Kara Swisher at All Things D seems very confident that the iPad 2 will be announced on March 2:
According to several sources close to the situation, the Wednesday date in a little more than a week is firm and will take place in San Francisco, the scene of many such Apple events.
There are no details on how "close to the situation" Swisher's sources are or why she is so particularly confident about the announcement date, but the time frame would line up with Apple's product release cycles so we'll circle it on our calendars for now.
