A stunt that quite nearly resulted in a poked-out eye (and a very different acting career) for Hugh Jackman is coming up lulz for the Internet.
The actor's failed attempt at a Wolverine-worthy entrance via Zipline onto Oprah Winfrey's Australia show Tuesday became instant Internet gold — and stiff competition for Sad Keanu Reeves — in the latest image macro meme, "Hugh Jackman can ride anything!"
Jackman, who used his precious, precious face to cushion his collision with a Sydney Opera House lighting rig, fortunately didn't faceplant into one of the many Jørn Utzon-designed pointy edges.
"That's how much we love Oprah," an on-scene news correspondent told his in-studio anchors. "We'll take our most handsome and talented man and we'll chuck him off the opera house."
Not worth it, Australia! The good news is, Jackman came away with a few stitches and his humor intact, and we get a great pre-collision shot to Photoshop with anything Jackman can hold onto ... or anyone.
