You know how you're not a bird, flying over a city looking straight down? Well, Google figured that out and updated its maps so that you can see three-dimensional renderings of a city's buildings from a more human vantage point. It's in the Maps 5.0 update for Android phones, and those people without Android phones have yet another reason to be jealous.
And it's not just about tilting, rotating and zooming through your surroundings. Google also built in an offline map cache, so that you can "continue viewing the map around the places you use Maps the most." For those behind the wheel who need directions whether or not there's cell service, Navigation will route you even when offline. The way to update — provided your phone is running at least Android 2.0 — is to search "Google Maps" in Android Market and download it.
