Did you wake up and realize that you had nothing scheduled for today? Either you're a lucky ducky who has the day off or Google Calendar just ate all your appointments.
TechCrunch reports that a lot of folks are complaining that their Google Calendars are eating appointments and events today. Google has acknowledged the issue but hasn't provided an explanation as to what exactly is causing the troubles:
We're experiencing an issue affecting less than 0.001% [Note: This number was originally 0.125%] of the Google Calendar user base. The affected users are able to access Google Calendar, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by February 23, 2011 6:52:00 AM UTC-5 detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change. Affected users may be missing entries in their calendars.
As of 8:50 AM, Google appears to still be "continuing to investigate this issue." If you're one of users affected by it, it's worth keeping an eye on the Apps Status Dashboard page for updates.
What can you do until the issue is resolved though? Not very much beyond keeping a duplicate of your calendar — perhaps even an offline copy.
