A brief Facebook outage caused the Internet to momentarily lose its collective mind on Wednesday. The social media giant went dark for many users in the afternoon. Facebook later said in a statement that the outage was due to "an error while making an infrastructure configuration change." The site returned to normal for many users after about 20 minutes. "We immediately discovered the issue and fixed it, and everyone should now be able to connect," a Facebook spokesperson said in the statement. The site had similar short-lived outages in August and June.
