Motorola's Droid Bionic — the company's "Ironman" of Androids — will be available Sept. 8 from Verizon Wireless. It's the carrier's first 4G phone with a powerful dual-core processor.
Although Verizon's high-speed LTE 4G network has not yet rolled out across the whole nation, it already has 4G phones from LG, Samsung and HTC, as well as other 4G devices.
The Bionic, with a 4.3-inch screen, runs on the Android operating system, and was first unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. The Bionic is expected to have these features:
- A dual-core processor, with each core being 1 GHz
- 8-megapixel camera
- 512 MB RAM
- 16 GB onboard storage; up to 32 GB of microSD storage
- Screen resolution of 960 x 480
- HTML5 and Flash Web browsing
A Korean-language version of a Verizon promo for the phone was posted on YouTube, showing the date of Sept. 8. And, Verizon Wireless, as "@droidbionic" on Twitter, confirmed the date:

There's no definite word on pricing yet, but it's likely the phone will go for $299 with a two-year contract.
