The Droid Razr Maxx, boasting 21 hours of battery life, will be available Jan. 26, sold by Verizon Wireless for $300 with a new two-year customer service plan.
The phone is made by Motorola. At 8.99 mm, the Droid Razr Maxx not as thin as its Droid Razr sibling (7.1 mm at its thinnest point), but is still thinner than the iPhone, at 9.3 mm.
The Razr Maxx's large and powerful 3300 mAh battery is what will help keep it going so long. It has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED HD-resolution screen.
Among the phone's other features are a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 32 GB memory (16 GB built-in memory and a pre-installed 16 GB microSD card), an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture and image stablization; a front-facing HD camera for video chat over Wi-Fi or Verizon's 3G or 4G network.
The phone also can be used as a mobile hotspot for up to eight Wi-Fi devices, although it will cost you an extra $20 a month.
If you're considering buying the Droid Razr Maxx, you'll need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan, which starts at $39.99 a month, and a smartphone data package starting at $30 a month for 2 GB of data.
One other note: The phone ships with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), but will be upgradable to the newest version of the Android operating system. 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
