Teddi Mellencamp took to social media Wednesday to share a positive update about her cancer treatment — all of her brain and lung tumors have "shrunk," she said.
Mellencamp, 43, the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, said in a video on Instagram that she recently finished all of her scans and that her tumors, which were graded at stage 4, have "significantly shrunk." She said doctors think that means "this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good."
Her treatment isn't complete yet, though. Mellencamp said in the video she has two more sessions of immunotherapy, "and then hopefully I am done and I will be cancer-free." In the video's caption, she said she has about six weeks of the treatment left.
"Doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course," she wrote in the caption.
"I'm going to keep a positive outlook because that's the way my doctor just spoke to me," she said. "He's like, 'You did this, you got this.'"
"Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity," Mellencamp wrote.
Mellencamp first revealed doctors found a number of tumors on her brain in February after she was experiencing severe headaches, prompting emergency brain surgery. Scans in March revealed more tumors in her lungs.
Mellencamp said she was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and had undergone treatment to remove the skin cancer. Her 16th melanoma spot was removed in September, according to People.
In March, she said all of the tumors were "metastases of my melanoma."
In April, she said the cancer had progressed to stage 4. Days later, she revealed her father, John Mellencamp, had started making plans for her burial.
