The All In with Chris Hayes team puts out a daily call to the Twitter and Facebook communities for the “awesomest things” they encountered on the Internet.
1. Since The Great Gatsby was published back in 1925 there have been many different covers. The most famous one however is being pushed off Walmart shelves in favor of the cover that promotes the film. We don’t take a position on which cover is the “best,” we are equal opportunity coverists. But, Walmart, give the original a chance, why don’t you?
2. On Wednesday, Chris Hayes said this: “Let me play the skeptical, the conservative here, hot tub of consensus.” It caught on. Fast. Spawned from that moment is the Twitter handle: @tubofconsensus. We’re particularly pleased with the avatar photo. Immersion looks good on Chris.
3. Laura Bush told NPR’s David Greene about her husband’s interest in painting. “He was looking for a pastime. He got an app on his iPad where he could draw pictures. He communicated with me if I was on the road and with Barbara and Jenna with funny drawings.” The former First Lady didn’t confirm which app he uses but did say he was inspired to get creative after reading Painting as a Pastime by Winston Churchill.
