Peanut recall expands to include Sara Lee, more

The following recalls have been announced:

Sara Lee North American Foodservice is recalling Chef Pierre Chocolate Peanut Butter Silk Pie, a foodservice product, because the product could be contaminated with salmonella. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. There have been no illnesses reported, according to the Downers Grove, Ill., company. The recalled product, with the UPC code 3210005095, was sold frozen with four packaged pies in each case. This product was sold and distributed nationally to foodservice companies and sold to consumers through Sara Lee outlet stores and other foodservice establishments.

Meijer is recalling two types of its Meijer Brand dry-roasted peanuts and four types of Meijer Brand ice cream novelties, sold in all of its stores in five states, because the products could be contaminated with salmonella. No illnesses have been reported, according to the Grand Rapids, Mich., company. The recalled products were sold in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. These products include:

The Akron, N.Y., company said it has not received any reports of illnesses. LesserEvil is recalling Peanut Butter and Choco Kettle Corn because the product could be contaminated with salmonella. No illnesses have been reported, according to the Tuckahoe, N.Y., company. All lot codes are being recalled. The product was distributed nationally, and it was also exported to Japan to Canada. The company sold the product through distributors to grocery and specialty stores and internet sales.It was also included in some gift baskets.
