The man accused of kidnapping Christina Morris from a Plano, Texas shopping center may not stand trial until June of 2016.
Enrique Arochi, 24, has been in jail since last December on a charge of aggravated kidnapping in connection with Morris’s summer 2014 disappearance. His trial was scheduled to begin on November 30th, but a judge has now pushed back that day in order to allow for new hair samples to be tested.
The hair samples came from a vacuum cleaner that Texas Department of Public Safety investigators obtained from a Sprint store where Arochi worked as a manager.
He reported for his shift there just several hours after surveillance cameras recorded him walking with Morris into a parking garage after they spent a night out with friends near The Shops at Legacy in Plano, Texas on August 30, 2014 just before 4:00 a.m.
Those are the last images of Morris before she vanished.
Officials say Arochi used the vacuum to clean out his 2010 Chevy Camaro and are testing the hairs collected for DNA. Morris’s DNA has been found in the vehicle’s trunk opening and on a mat inside. It could take up to 12 weeks for the hairs to be tested.
Arochi was adamant during media interviews before his arrest that he dropped Morris off at her car that night and has no idea what happened to her. His attorneys have said he plans to plead not guilty.
The Morris family continues to search for Christina and keep her in the public eye.
Every week, Christina’s father leads a party of searchers as guided by the Plano Police Department. Her grandparents also frequently protest during visiting hours outside the jail where Arochi is being held.

The family is also known to hand out gift cards along with purple business cards that bear Christina’s photo. Recipients are asked to enjoy these random acts of kindness and “pay it forward” in honor of Christina.
Anyone with information about Christina’s disappearance is asked to call the Plano Police Department at (972) 424-5678. You can also visit the Facebook Page ‘Help Find Christina Morris’ for more information.
Christina was featured in Dateline NBC's 'Missing in America' series in August 2014.
