Joanna Coles assumed the reigns of Cosmopolitan in September 2012, and since then the world’s largest women’s magazine has been busy expanding its focus on the politics and policies impacting women’s lives. Here, Coles, a multi-tasking mother of two boys, shares the apps that help keep her on her toes and connected with loved ones many miles away.
1. Jawbone Up
I'm obsessed with the app for my Jawbone Up. I'm a control freak and love to track my steps and compete with myself to do more. It inspires me to get on my treadmill desk. I also love the Jambox speakers they do, because I love to have music wherever I go.
2. FaceTime
I'm a classic narcissist and love to FaceTime. It's a great way to stay in touch with my parents and friends in England, friends on the west coast, my son who is at prep school, and my husband who grew up in Zimbabwe and makes frequent trips to Africa.
3. Evernote
This app fornote-taking and archiving helps keep me organized and I love their new boutique called Evernote Market.
4. Sky Guide
I use this astronomy app to stargaze at night when I travel to get a bead on where I am.
5. Lifehacker
This app offers maverick life tips, though of course I can usually find all the tips I need in the pages of Cosmo.
