The desperate 911 call came in around 2:30 a.m. on April 4, 2023.
The man never gave his name, but he pleaded for help repeatedly to the operator.
The man was then seen on a security camera staggering to the front of an apartment building.
He made it to the callbox, but before he could use it, he collapsed onto the pavement.
He managed to get up again and take a few more steps before collapsing again.
Officers arrived at the scene within a few minutes and found him unresponsive.
They performed CPR, but it was too late.
The man turned out to be no ordinary victim.
He was tech titan Bob Lee, founder of Cash App, among other innovations.
And this was no ordinary crime.
Investigators would need to follow the trail, literally and figuratively, to figure that out what happened.
