Friends of Sanger are mourning her loss.

"She was an amazing light to the world, really," said Mo Levasseur.

Sanger was a much-loved owner of a massage, yoga and Reiki studio.

Jamie Belsito was among those who dropped off flowers at Sanger’s business on Main Street on Thursday.

“She could show up in a room, light up a room and give you a hug and you felt that warmth. She was a safe place, you could talk to her about anything," Belsito said.

A mother was with three of her children when she fell from a cliff at Purgatory Chasm State Reservation, police said.

Sanger was a regular at Zumi’s Espresso, right next door to her wellness center.

“She was wonderful, very kind-hearted, at Zumi’s all the time with her kids, friends, for hours of talk," said Umesh Bhiji, who owns the coffee shop.

Friends say Sanger was a vital part of the Topsfield community. Sanger was with three of her children when the accident happened.

Purgatory Chasm is a popular place for hikers, but it can be dangerous, with cliffs and jagged rock formations. Those familiar with it told NBC10 Boston that people need to be on alert as they make their way around the 2 miles of trails at this state-run recreation area.

“There’s some parts that are scary, you have to really pay attention, you have to keep track of your kids. They can’t go too far ahead of you, there’s parts that are definitely dangerous," Jasmine Duffy, a hiker, said.

Massachusetts State Police said troopers were called to the area around 2 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a person who fell and found the victim, who was pronounced dead on scene. Police and the district attorney's office are investigating the case.
