Friday was a half day in the Karen Read murder trial, with jurors visiting the home in Canton, Massachusetts, where John O'Keefe's body was found in January 2022.
The jury trip to 34 Fairview Road came after Read's prior public interviews were played in court Thursday in which she talks about how much she drank the night O'Keefe died, admitting in one that she "shouldn't have been driving." Jurors also heard Thursday about the text messages that were exchanged between the pair, showing they were arguing about their relationship leading up to the night in question.
After, jurors heard testimony about the blood alcohol testing done on Read at the hospital on Jan. 29, 2022, where Dr. Garrey Faller, a pathologist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, explained how the process works and the difference between the clinical testing at the hospital and the type of testing done in a forensics lab.
This was followed by another account of the morning by Canton firefighter/paramedic Jason Becker, who said that Read told him her last conversation with O'Keefe was an argument.
