- [Instructor] One of the most important yet overlooked pieces of putting together a web application is accessibility. Accessibility means that we'll create websites to be used by anyone and everyone. As developers, it's not someone else's job to make the web accessible for everyone, it's our job. When working on projects, we should always consider how the choices we make with our user interfaces might be exclusionary. If you have a brick-and-mortar store, the building must be accessible. If you have an online store, the same is true. Not only is this the right thing to do, but, in many countries, accessibility is the law. As Section 508, the U.S. government's accessibility program states, "Agencies must give disabled employees "and members of the public access to information "that is comparable to access available to others."
