- [Instructor] Here in Excel, you'll see a long list of names and associated information. I have dealt with information like this, for example, when I send out letters or contact customers. To be efficient, not to mention to save money, it helps to locate the duplicates. One way to do so is to sort the list. This data is in a table, and it does have a header up here at row 1. The data is also consistent with all the columns containing the proper information. The sorting trick works only when the columns are consistent in this manner. Select a cell within the table. Press Control + Home to go to the first cell, A1, and ensure that you perform this step, as otherwise, Excel looks only at selected cells.
