- We discussed storage in the last video, now let's take a look at compute. Cloud computing also supports compute services, this means that it provides CPUs for processing anything that needs to be processed. So if we're leveraging cloud-based systems, it's usually going to have both storage and compute services at a minimum. They are both needed to provide an essential platform. Examples of compute would be a Linux system provisioned on Google that provides an Intel-based processor on-demand and 16 gigs of memory. A supercomputer provisioned by AWS, providing access to advanced processing power in support of an AI application. A SaaS system processing end of year reporting for you, using a set of clustered X86 core processors. Or anything where a CPU is provided on-demand or leveraged through an on-demand model.
