Does this replace the King Crimson Collectors' Club (KCCC)? Rumours of the King Crimson Collectors' Club death are greatly exaggerated as it will continue for as long as there is a sufficient demand. Current plans are that all titles will, in time, be made available for downloading as part of the DGM Live library, complete with the original notes and artwork in PDF format. The moral of the story is that if you like the KCCC don't delay, buy some today. Back to Top
What can I purchase and download? You may purchase any of the items in the DGM Library in FLAC or MP3 format. Users can download the music they purchase using BitTorrent or their web browser. Back to Top
How much do downloads cost? On average a FLAC download costs $12.95, an MP3 download costs $9.95. Price can vary depending on the size of the purchased downloads. FLAC downloads are more expensive because the files are larger and have better audio quality. There is a cost associated with delivering large files over the internet. DGM Live only accepts Visa and Mastercard for payment. Back to Top
Can I use PayPal ? There are no plans to introduce Paypal as the method of payment. Currently DGM Live only accepts Visa and Mastercard. Back to Top
Do I need high-speed or a broadband internet connection? A high-speed internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) is highly recommended for downloading library items, especially FLAC files. A two-disc library item in FLAC format can take approximately 90 minutes to download on a 1mbps connection. Modem users will experience faster download times if they purchase MP3 versions only. Back to Top
How long do items remain available for purchase? There are no plans to remove items from the on-line catalog once they are posted there. New items will be posted on a regular basis. DGM reserves the right to remove an item from the catalog for technical reasons or any other reason. The DGM Live Terms of Service still apply, and we do not offer any guarantees about availability of service. Back to Top
How often can I download the music I purchase? Once you purchase music from DGM you may wait as long as you want before downloading the files. Once you begin downloading music from the DGM web site you have 72 hours to complete the download. You may download your purchased music files as often as needed during the 72 hour download window. IMPORTANT: If you do not finish downloading your purchase in the 72 hour window you must purchase the music again in order to finish the download. Back to Top
Why is there a download window? There is a cost to DGM each time a file is downloaded from our servers. DGM Live is not a subscription service or a digital file storage service. These types of services require ongoing payment from users either in the form of a monthly subscription or a per-download charge. Currently you are purchasing the rights to download music to your computer a single time. 72 hours should be adequate to achieve a complete download of purchased material. To maximize your download efficiency we recommend utilizing BitTorrent. BitTorrent usage will usually give you effective download speeds even when the DGM Live system is under heavy usage stress. What is BitTorrent? BitTorrent is a file distribution software that utilizes peer-to-peer principles to deliver files across the internet. All DGM library purchases may be downloaded via BitTorrent. After purchasing a show, you may click on the "Download via BitTorrent" link on the download page. This will save a small file with a ".torrent" file extension to your computer. To begin downloading your music open the .torrent file with a BitTorrent software client. DGM recommends downloading and installing the official BitTorrent client for downloading DGM music. What is FLAC? FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) is a file format which offers CD quality audio. FLAC compresses standard audio files (WAV or AIFF) to half their normal size with no loss in sound quality. This is different from MP3 which is a lossy compression format. With MP3s some of the data of the original audio file is lost when the MP3 is encoded. FLAC files are generally very large. A full CD of music (~650 megabytes) will average about 300 megabytes worth of FLAC files. For this reason DGM recommends that only users with broadband connections to the internet (Cable modem, DSL, LAN) purchase and download FLAC files. Downloading a FLAC purchase with a conventional 56kbps modem could take 75 hours! FLAC files can be played using a handful of free audio players. Generally, it is necessary to de-compress a FLAC file to the standard WAV or AIFF format before playing or burning to a CD. Back to Top
What is MP3? MP3 is a popular file format for compressed audio. The DGM Live library is available for purchase in MP3 format encoded at a minimum bit-rate of 192kbps. MP3s will play in all modern audio players for every computer platform. Most current CD players support MP3 CDs--compact discs with MP3 instead of standard audio files. The MP3 format is the recommended purchase format for all users. Back to Top
Are there restrictions on the music I download? There are no technological restrictions or DRM (Digital Rights Management) applied to any of the music files downloaded from DGM Live. Users are bound by the Terms of Service agreement which accompanies their purchase, and all applicable copyright laws apply to the music distributed through the site. DGM Live may succeed to the degree that its users refrain from illegally distributing the files they purchase. Back to Top
Is there any CD cover art available?Cover art is available for most shows in the library. It is available as part of the purchase of any library item. Cover art is supplied in PDF (Portable Document Format). These files may be opened and printed using Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. Back to Top

BitTorrent Questions What is BitTorrent?BitTorrent is a file distribution program that utilizes peer-to-peer principles to move files across the internet. When a user downloads music from DGM Live using BitTorrent they are not only downloading the file from DGM's servers, they are also downloading that music from other customers who are downloading the same files at the same time. In the process of downloading files via BitTorrent, you also upload portions of the files which you have on your computer to other DGM customers. DGM's servers only allow registered users to connect to the BitTorrent network, and a single customer may only download from one computer at a time using BitTorrent. Back to Top
Why should I use BitTorrent?BitTorrent provides a fast method for DGM to deliver all files associated with a single purchase in a few steps. In downloading FLAC or MP3 files individually there is a danger that all of the file may not transfer successfully. BitTorrent ensures that your download does not finish until you have every bit of information as it appears on DGM's servers. BitTorrent users download their files from the main server and from other users downloading the same files. This increases the number of locations your computer can download the information it requests. In many cases this will increase the speed of your download, especially with popular files. As you download from DGM via BitTorrent you share the pieces of your files with other users who have also purchased those files. It is not possible for other users to download any material from your computer other than the music files you have obtained from DGM. When you close the BitTorrent software after you finish downloading you are disconnected from the BitTorrent network and no longer share the files with any other customers. If you alter or remove the files you download from DGM you will not be able to re-connect to the DGM BitTorrent network using the same files. Back to Top

BitTorrent is downloading very slowly It may take a few seconds for a BitTorrent download to establish itself. Allow 10-15 seconds for the download to reach optimum speed as it identifies DGM's servers and any peer computers to download the files you purchased. BitTorrent may perform slowly if you have a firewall that is preventing BitTorrent from uploading portions of the music files to other DGM Live customers. Your computer must be able to accept connections on ports 6881-6889 to participate in the BitTorrent network. Review your firewall software's manual on how to adjust its configuration. Back to Top
BitTorrent says 'Connecting to peers' and nothing is downloading It may take a few seconds for a BitTorrent download to begin. If the download does not start after 10-15 seconds there are several things you should check: - Has the 72-hour download window on your show expired? All files must be downloaded within 72 hours of the start of the download. Log in to www.dgmlive.com/accounts.htm and check the download status of the show you are trying to download.
- If your computer is protected by a firewall you may need to change its configuration to allow BitTorrent traffic through. BitTorrent needs to communicate on network ports 6881-6889. Review the manual for your firewall on the proper steps to change its configuration.
If you can not alter your firewall configuration then you may download each file in your purchase individually using your web browser.
If you still have time left in your download window, your firewall is configured correctly, and you still can not download your music. Please submit a report to customer support. Back to Top
When I click on an MP3 link it starts playing but doesn't download Some browsers automatically start playing MP3 files instead of downloading them to your computer. To prevent this, Windows users may right-click and choose the option 'Save target as...' or 'Save file as...' from the contextual menu. Mac OS X users may control-click on the link and choose the 'Download linked file as...' option from the contextual menu. Then, select the location on your computer where you'd like to save the file. There are brief pauses between the tracks I downloaded Many music jukebox softwares (e.g. Windows Media Player, iTunes) have a brief pause between each track when they are played in succession. This pause can be removed by enabling the 'cross-fade' playback feature in each software. Here are directions for Windows Media Player and Apple's iTunes: Windows Media Player (WMP) - In your WMP toolbar go to View > Enhancements and select Crossfading and Auto Volume Leveling.
(If the toolbar is not present in the WMP window, click on the inverted arrow in the upper right-hand corder of the window) - A new window pane will appear with links to toggle Auto Volume Leveling and Crossfading on or off. Make sure Crossfading is ON.
- A sliding level bar will come into focus make sure that the lever is all the way to the left on the bar and that the text beneath it reads "0.0 seconds of overlap"
- You're done! If this does not remedy the playback problem you should contact Customer Support.
iTunes - In the iTunes toolbar go to iTunes > Preferences
- When the preference window appears select "Audio" from the toolbar
- Check the "Crossfade Playback" checkbox and make sure that the lever is all the way to the left so that there are 0 seconds of crossfade in your audio playback.
- You're done! If this does not remedy the playback problem you should contact Customer Support.
