BetaProjMgr: Helix combines many classic AOL features, such as the toolbar, with Internet standard features like tabbed browsing.
SandersM: This is very slow. Is there some place we can offer suggestions that will actually be read?

GeorgeKnighton: What is the purpose of Helix? Why was it promulgated?
BetaAteb: All suggestions will be read and may be responded to in line, but we like to get an overview first as they may answer some questions.

BetaProjMgr: Developing the features as the User Interface (UI) was still being defined.

BetaProjMgr: Helix is built on AOL’s Open Client Platform (OCP) using an open-source UI rendering engine
BetaProjMgr: Boxely, that uses a combination of C++ and an XML-based scripting language.

BetaProjMgr: AOL Explorer, AIM, CCU, SSC, OpenRide

BetaGuestSpeaker: we chose the codename "Helix" because of its association with DNA and evolution
BetaGuestSpeaker: the design essentially evolved from 9.0, even though there are many new features and an updated look and feel
BetaGuestSpeaker: we worked to balance innovation with comfort and familiarity in this evolved design

Managed Mail folders be sortable without having to do it all manually.

BetaGuestSpeaker: SGW7011: re: familiarity and comfort, Helix has a toolbar and a layout similar to 9.0, and offers the option for you to view mail in new/old/sent or inbox style

Smcguirenyc: I think you need to keep the interface looking more AOL. Use the running man for instance.

ForumDesigner: The mail feature allowing other emails to be added is very valuable to me because I have several websites with many Emails. The only problems so far is new mail not updating with notification.
GeorgeKnighton: One of the big advantages of having AOL is the ability to store a lot of information on the server. Things like Favourites should be pulled off the server, not the computer on which Helix is installed
Calebmcdaniels: have any of you had problems installing the AOL helix on you computers?
turnerd10: I think AOL helix is just like AOL open ride and I think AOL helix should have a media player

GeorgeKnighton: There needs to be functionality for switching between windows, like Alt-Tab or something.
GeorgeKnighton: Is there any chance at all that we will see internal browser code based on Mozilla instead of MSIE? The code is so much easier to manipulate.
JTK456: I liked the default settings to automatically save mail to
AOL or my PC, as well, though if saved to one's PC, it sure is a pain to go through all that tools/organize/spool file BS if needed ...
GeorgeKnighton: Is there any chance of anti-advertising plugins becoming available for the browser? This is a great and well known weakness of all AOL browsers.

RSpekin: I was surprised AOL Explorer made its return to an AOL product... with that, it looks "clunky" and not too "web2.0"-y... any improvements on the look-and-feel of the browser, in respect to Helix?

JTK456: Well, since we're helping AOL by Beta Testing, at least we should have the option of turning off the advertising on, at least our e-mail. Anyone agree?

BetaGuestSpeaker: so we wanted to integrate AIM, and make use of all the features they've been adding over the years.
