Back when we reported about the launch of SceneRace v2 and the tracker going ratio free, there was huge demand for invites of this tracker. If you are still looking for one, here is some good news. Visit the ScR IRC channel and you will easily be able to obtain a free invitation, directly from tracker staff. In case you don’t know what it is, SceneRace is a general/0day private torrent site that runs on the Gazelle codebase. Since the launch of ScR V2, the site’s ratio system has been removed and ScR is now effectively a ratio free private tracker.

In addition to the many new improvements introduced in ScR V2, new features are continuously being added to SceneRace by its coders. One such addition is ‘Otto’ – a bot that can automatically upload zero day releases to the tracker.

Thanks to your support and heroic work by our newest developer, OTTO is finally here!
He's uploading stuff as we speak, although some categories will be temporarily excluded as we cycle through to find what gets hits and how much bandwidth each category uses.

Otto’s introduction will no doubt improve the site’s pre times and minimize the number of missing uploads since the process is now fully automated. ScR however needs more members –currently there are around 2700 users and 700+ active torrents. Some of the indexed torrents can definitely do with more seeder/leecher activity. Anyways let’s get back to the topic of this article – invites.

UPDATED: ScR have added a web form for invite requests. You no longer need to login to IRC channels to request for invite (apparently a lot of readers were logging into their IRC after reading this post that it overloaded their server). Free SceneRace Invites On IRC – Ratioless General Torrent Tracker

RELOADED are back with another cracked SecuROM protected title. This time it’s the licensed game of the 2008 movie Wanted. Wanted : Weapons of Fate continues the story of Wesley Gibson after the event of the movie. RELOADED are a veteran group from the warez scene who are well known for cracking SecuROM (among other anti piracy measures). It seems that this game was using the regular version of the DRM and not SecuROM PA component – the part that enforces online activation.

 

RELOADED’s release consist of a full DVD ISO of the game, a cracked executable and the release NFO. It has already leaked all over the place, including onto private torrent trackers:

Pirates crack Wanted : Weapons of Fate + How to unlock characters & costumes

We bring you news of another brand new NVIDIA beta driver release – NVIDIA have released the ForceWare drivers v.182.47 although the official download page is not yet updated.  v182.47 is almost identical to 182.46 (another internal build) and features OpenGL 3.1 and GLSL 1.40 on G80 GeForce based graphics cards. Drivers were released for both Microsoft Windows XP and Vista Operating systems. Note that this driver build does not come with bundled PhysX software.

Note that if you need to download NVIDIA PhysX software seperately you can do so for free via this link. If you already have a PhysX version installed, new driver setup will continue to use that particular installation.

NVIDIA ForceWare 182.47 Drivers Direct Download (XP/Vista)

After posting several niche torrent trackers in the last few days, today we have a General/0Day tracker. RoTorrent (RoT) is a Romanian private tracker which has lots of English scene and p2p releases. This includes movies, music, mobile appz, E-books, games and other general content. RoT is a relatively new site which has only been around for several months but a nice little community of BitTorrent users has already been formed around this tracker.

One of the first things you’ll notice with RoTorrent is that it has four different torrent indexes (browse pages);  One for general content, one for adult content, one for music and another for mobile content. Altogether around 1200 active torrents are currently being tracked by RoT.

Speaking of the content, RoT tracks the usual stuff that can be found on most general trackers. They however do have quite a few exclusive releases and packs in addition to common scene and p2p releases. Note that most of the DVDR releases on this tracker contain the ‘RoSub’ tag on title – this only means that release comes with optional Romanian subtitles, not that it’s dubbed in Romanian.

As you can see from the above screenshot, most of the packs on RoT have free leech and double upload enabled – these torrents are perfect for ratio building. Pre times and download speeds on RoT are average.

Another positive fact about RoT is that it seems to be managed by the right people. I’ve seen one of the admins taking the trouble to gather user opinions & feedback on how the tracker could be improved, etc on various BitTorrent forums. Having an admin who takes user opinions seriously is always a good thing for a private tracker.

If you are interested, the site is currently open for registrations. It was closed to the public some time ago and there is no guarantee till when the open signups will continue. Check it out.

RoTorrent – General/0Day torrents tracker signups open

Another Downloadable Content (DLC) pack for Fallout 3 has been leaked on BitTorrent. The Pitt is the second DLC for last year’s hit RPG title Fallout 3 (first one was Operation Anchorage, which too was leaked by the scene). DLC for Fallout 3 are available exclusively from the Games for Windows Live Marketplace and users need to purchase the packs in order to download the additional content into the main game. However, p2p group THEPIRATEGAY have leaked the DLC files which can even be used on cracked versions of Fallout 3, enabling even pirates access to new content.

All three files required to run the DLC have been included in THEPIRATEGAY’s release – apart from these files a crack does not seem to be required. However in order to play The Pitt, users are required to have Fallout 3 update 1.4 installed (a mandatory requirement that applies to both cracked and  legitimate versions of the game).

How to get The Pitt working on Fallout 3 (Quoted from homepage)

You must play the game (have your character out and about in the
Wasteland, not be in Fallout 3's menu system) for a couple minutes for the The Pitt content to appear. After a couple minutes, a radio beacon and the quest line will become available.

Fallout 3 The Pitt DLC Leaked – No Crack Needed

Invite trading has always been a hotly debated topic in the world of BitTorrent. No matter how traders try to justify invite trading, the number of private torrent trackers and BitTorrent communities that prohibit this practice are increasing by the day. Latest tracker to join the ‘no trading’ club is GFT – a ratio free private tracker that has risen to popularity in a short period of time. GFT now has new rules against invite selling/trading and as per them the entire invite tree of a known trader can be banned by tracker staff.

Heads up - third series of the popular UK television series Robin hood has just started airing. First episode of season 3 has already been leaked on BitTorrent by scene group BiA (note that we are talking about the Robin Hood series that began airing in 2006). This series is aired in the UK on BBC One as well as on BBC HD. However thanks to BitTorrent technology viewers across the globe are able to enjoy the show. Where to find and download Robin Hood (2006-2009) TV series torrents

Among the thousands of private trackers with General/0Day content, there are few small and rather unknown torrent sites specializing in specific niches – just like the the tracker featured in this article. Those of you who are interested in lossless music have probably heard about the WavPack format (WavPack is a hybrid lossless audio compression scheme that is growing in popularity – more info here). WavPack music is not commonly found even on the biggest music trackers around. This is where WalVe BTSound comes in – it’s a new private tracker that specializes in music in WavPack format.

WalVe BTSound is a relatively new private tracker which has Russian origins. Although the site is from Russian, majority of the content tracked is English music. Currently there are over 500 torrents on this site, most of which are music albums encoded in WavPack format (See categories below for music genres information). In addition to music, Walve BTSound has some DVD-VIDEO releases of live shows as well.

 

Note that the site layout except for the signup page is in Russian language. However, navigation should not be a problem even if you don’t know the language - the site follows standard private tracker layout (the second button on top toolbar “Обзор” is the browse button which is probably all you’ll need help with).

Download WavPack lossless music torrents from WalVe BTSound tracker

DRM and various other copy protection mechanisms are commonly used in today’s software and games. According to most software/game publishers, such measures are absolutely necessary to fight of modern pirates. However DRM and anti piracy measures have become more intrusive in the past couple of years and are nowadays heavily disliked (or may I say hated) by many end users. So how do you know which DRM or anti piracy measures are embedded into the latest PC game or application you just purchased?

The answer is simple – use Protection ID. Protection ID is a freeware application that is capable of identifying over 100 various DRM and copy protection technologies used. This software is capable for detecting DRM such as SecurROM, Starforce, Safedisk along with a number of exe packers, exe protectors, PC game trial protections, malware cryptors, .NET protections, dongles, licenses, installers, PC/ISO protections, CD/DVD sector scans and more (You can see a full list here). Given below is a screenshot taken after running Protection ID on a GTA : San Andreas exe i had on my hard disk:

As in the above case, sometime the software is able to identified any cracks applied to circumvent the protection by various scene and p2p groups. To scan an exe with Protection ID, all you need to do is to click the ‘Scan’ button located on bottom left corner of the screen.  Notice the little icons on the left hand panel – those are useful little extra tools which can be used to perform additional tasks.

List Of Private Torrent Trackers Currently Open For Signup – 27 March, 2009

Nothing makes me more happy than seeing latest DRM software get raped at the hands of scene and p2p groups. ViTALiTY, a group from the game scene have returned with a yet another cracked PC title – Vin Diesel’s Wheelman. Wheelman is a 2009 driving game published by Ubisoft (developed by Midway games). The game was released on the 24th of March in NA and on the 27th in Europe. Thanks to ViTALiTY, the game has now leaked all over the internet.

Unlike most recent games published by UBISoft such as H.A.W.X, Endwar and Prince of Persia, Wheelman was not DRM free. Instead, it included SecuROM v7.39.0005 DRM protection developed by Sony. Anyways ViTALiTY has made thing much simpler for pirates and DRM haters alike – their release contains a cracked executable which seemingly has the protection removed. As mentioned earlier the release has spread everywhere including private torrent trackers:

Source: Torrent-Racers IRC Speaking of the game, Wheelman seems like a fun game to play. There are not many reviews of this game around yet but you can see some trailers here. EDIT: Here are some of the problems that have been reported with this game. These are based on various E-mails we received and from information posted across various gaming forums:

• Cannot change controls and some display/graphics settings
• Stuttering or pauses on certain hardware configurations - even on some high end systems.
• Disappearing road bug - Sometimes when you are driving along a road, the road suddenly dissapears nad you fall in and die an instant death. No fix for this bug yet.
• Note that there is a fake release with the same name as VITALITY's circulating in various public BitTorrent trackers. Apparantly the installer of this release is a trojan downloader so beware.

Pirates crack Wheelman (PC)- SecuROM pwned again

The past week was not that good for private trackers with major sites such TL and SCC encountering problems. Don't worry – this time around we have some good news regarding two popular private torrent trackers in the BitTorrent scene ; SmokingInTheRain (SITR) and SCL (The Clover). Smoking In The Rain has just upgraded to a brand new shiny new layout while the secret yet popular tracker SCL has launched it’s 3rd phase of expansion. Read on for more details.

S.I.T.R. Upgrades Layout

Readers of this Blog should be familiar with the private torrent tracker Smoking In The Rain (SITR). It’s a general/0day tracker with a good community that’s been around for a while. SCL launches 3rd expansion phase

After about a month since their last expansion, SCL (The Clover) has launched the 3rd expansion phase in order to recruit more members. Under this scheme, existing SCL members are given several invites which are only valid for a limited time – members can use these invites during the validity period to invite their friends in.

S.I.T.R’s new look and SCL tracker 3rd expansion phase

Nowadays one click hosting sites such as RapidShare, MegaShare, FileFactory, Depositfiles are hugely popular. The popularity of these sites have given birth to a number of tools associated with them in the form of hacks, automatic downloaders, uploaders, leechers, etc. One bad aspect of such tools is that most of these are either fakes, scams, malware or simply useless non functional software. File Uploader 4.1.2 is one of those rare one click hosting site utilities which actually does what it claims to do.

As the name suggests, File and Image uploader is an automatic uploader which supports over 150 file storage services including (but not limited to) Rapidshare, Megashare, Uploading.com, Sendspace, Megaupload and even YoutTube. If you want to upload a file to a one click hosting site, all you need to do is it open File Uploader, select the file, select the host and hit the upload button. The file will be uploaded and the download link will be generated – the entire process is automated and you are not required to visit the site on the web or fill captchas. You can even upload the same file to multiple one click hosting sites at the same time.

The list of supported servers is truly impressive. I did not have the time to check if automatic uploading to each and every one of these sites worked. Most of the major services including RapidShare, Sendspace, etc worked just fine.

File Uploader 4.1.2 – Upload files to RapidShare, Megaupload, SendSpace & More

This week has not been that good for users of private torrent trackers. Two popular General/0Day trackers SceneAccess (SCC) and TorrentLeech (TL) were forced offline for quite a long time (actually they were down for only about a day – but in the world of BitTorrent that’s a long time). Those who were eagerly awaiting the complete return of these beloved trackers can now heave a sigh of relive – both sites are back online and fully functional once again.

Out of these two sites SceneAccess came back online about three days ago – however the site was having trouble with the upload function and as a result no new torrents were uploaded in the past three days. SCC’s upload problem now seems to be sorted and torrents are being uploaded at lighting fast pre times, as usual.

TorrentLeech which was down since yesterday has also returned. At a glance all major site functions including the tracker seem to be working:

Due to a serious network related issue with our ISP, TorrentLeech suffered a many hours downtime. The problem is resolved now, and we are taking precautions in order to avoid such downtimes in the future. Because of a needed maintenance after that incident, there is a chance of a very small downtime (only a few minutes) in the coming day. Thank you all for your patience and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

TorrentLeech is Back, SCC uploads working

BitTorrent trackers based on the Gazelle codebase were a rarity few months ago. But now things are slowly changing – many new sites that run on Gazelle have been launched and several older sites such as FTS (Open) and Tehconnection have migrated to this new codebase. (Gazelle is a BitTorrent tracker script pioneered by What.CD crew). We present you another new BitTorrent site that is based on Gazelle – DarkForce is a private torrent tracker that tracks Bollywood content and other general scene/p2p releases.

Over the course of last few months we have posted over a dozen specialized Bollywood/Hindi trackers here on FILEnetworks Blog. If memory servers correct, none of these sites were running on Gazelle codebase – DarkForce is perhaps the first ever Gazelle based Bollywood tracker. Although we call it a ‘Bollywood’ tracker, it’s not only that. It does have lots of Bollywood stuff but I also found some general scene releases including English movies on DarkForce.

Note that DarkForce is a brand new tracker. It currently only has 450 users. The site trackers close to 700 torrents which is pretty good stat for a 1 month old private tracker. However DarkForce definitely needs more leechers and seeders.

DarkForce – Gazelle based Bollywood/General Torrent Tracker

These days you hear a lot about torrent sites going offline for indefinite periods of time – several days ago SceneAccess (SCC) was down for around 24 hours and today another popular tracker TorrentLeech too suffered from prolonged downtime. One thing we have noticed when a popular tracker suddenly goes down is the increased number of E-Mails and comments posted by site’s users. Such responses are usually something similar to “what's up with [tracker name]? Is it down for you too?”. With the help of the sites posted below, you will no longer need to wait for others to verify this information for you.

1. DownForEveryoneOrJustMe (DFEOJM)

All you have to do is to visit http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com and type in the web address of the site you want to check. If the site’s servers are offline, DFEOJM will let you know. If the service is able to access the site, this too will be communicated to you. If DFEOKM is able to access a site and you cannot, there may be something wrong at your end (note – this is just a possibility) .

2. IsThatSiteDown?

http://isthatsitedown.com/ is another service similar to DownForEveryOneOrJustMe. This too lets you check if a site is really offline. Just like in the previous case, make sure you have no problems at your end if this service is able to reach a site that you cannot.  

Although we wrote this article with BitTorrent trackers in mind, basically any site on the internet can be tested using the two services mentioned above. Note that none of these services check the functionality of a web site. They merely ping the site’s host through their servers.

Two sites to check if a torrent tracker is really down

UPDATE: TL is now back up. Read all about it here.
Popular private torrent tracker TorrentLeech (TL) has been down for nearly a day. The site’s sudden disappearance without notice has made some users nervous. Since the site was featured in our private trackers section several times, we thought of posting a brief update on the current situation. As per our information the cause of downtime is nothing serious – they have not been raided or been taken down. What’s forcing the site offline seems to be a fire at TL’s datacenter.

TorrentLeech IRC channel (irc://irc.torrentleech.org:7011/torrentleech) is not down and is buzzing with activity. The current channel topic is reads as below:

“SITE DOWN TRACKER DOWN - w00t sold TorrentLeech to Blizzard for gold,stop asking”

This is obviously a joke and was probably set up by a TL staffer who got frustrated by answering the same question again and again :p Anyways as it stands right now, it is only a matter of time the site returns. You can keep checking the homepage or join the IRC channel (which is public and does not require an invite) for latest updates.
P.S. – TL’s sister site PussyTorrents is also down, most likely due to the same reason stated above.

TorrentLeech temporarily down

We have talked about several torrent sites with kids only content in our Kids Trackers section before. ChildBytes (CB) is another private torrent tracker specializing in the same niche - it has lots of cartoons, kids movies, kids TV Shows, music, DVD releases of children's shows, games and many other content targeted at children. This doesn't mean that there is nothing here that adults can enjoy – for example some cartoons such as those Looney Tunes shorts have no age barrier :P.

ChildBytes currently tracks around 900 torrents and has a user base close to 2500 members. Considering the fact that ChildBytes specializes in a rather less popular niche (kids stuff), these statistics are definitely impressive. As for the content on CB, there are some rare gems indexed here – torrents of Timon and Pumba, Aladdin, Ninja Turtles, Looney Tunes, Flintstones, Popeye and a whole lot of other popular (but not usually found on general torrent trackers) kids content can be freely downloaded from CB.

As you may have already figured out by the above screenshots, ChildBytes has a colorful, eye catching layout which is a perfect choice for a kids tracker. It not just the looks - download speeds on new torrents on CB are pretty good. Most of the large packs too are alive and seeded but there are several torrents without any seeds as well.

Public signups of ChidBytes had been closed for a while – they however are now open once again. In addition to open signups, the entire site is currently on free leech. If you are interested, now would be a good time to create an account.

ChildBytes – Children’s Torrent Tracker Signups Open

This is a very important update if you are using Windows XP to play latest PC games. Microsoft have released the latest DirectX 9.0c runtime libraries, updated in March 2009. It’s been quite a while since a new update for DX9 was released as the last one was released way back in November, 2008. Yahoo! Messenger 9.0.0.2152 – Standalone, Offline Installer

It’s been less than a month since we posted about SeedGames (Open) and JuicyBitz (Open), two new private torrent tracker specializing in PC and Console games. If you are a gamer, here is some more good news. GameAccess, another dedicated games torrent tracker is currently open and is accepting new public registrations (although the name ‘GameAccess’ is similar to ‘SceneAccess’, two sites have no relation with each other). GameAccess is a private tracker with Polish origins but almost all indexed torrents on this site are English releases.

GameAccess is a relatively new entrant to the BitTorrent scene. It’s a startup tracker which has close to 2900 members and 550 torrents. The site has recently undergone a few changes including the introduction of free download slots (DL), free leech slots (FL) and double upload slots (DU). There is also a great seed bonus system active on GameAccess through which you can buy free FL, DL, DU slots, upload credit or other cool stuff for points you earn.

As for the content, GameAccess is a private games tracker so expect to find all sorts of PC and console games, emulators, ROM and everything else related to gaming. One of the positives I noticed with GameAccess is that they seem to be one of the few private torrent trackers interested in tracking PC game rips by p2p rippers such as Skullptura, Synergy, etc. This is great because earlier the only good collection of PC Game rips I’ve managed to find on a private tracker was in Zamunda.

Note that GameAccess is a startup tracker – they still have a long way to go if they are to compete with the likes of Blackcats-Games and BitGAMER but their start looks very promising. If you want to check the site out, signups are now open - you may create an account for free.

GameAccess – Games torrent tracker signups open

Pretome (PTM) sure is a popular private tracker. It’s been only 1-2 days since our previous exclusive PTM key expired and the E-mail inbox is already getting flooded with requests for a new one. Free PreToMe Registration Key – April 2009

Are you a fan of the hit television series South Park? If so, you might find this article to be interesting. South Park is a popular animated sitcom which’s been airing for over 12 years. So far 183 episodes spanning across 13 seasons have been aired. The show has gained hugely popularity in the U.S. as well as in other countries across the world. We first posted about 3DP Chip about two months ago. Since then the article has been referred to in a number of our PC game troubleshooting posts – it’s been pretty damn useful. This is to inform you that a newer build of 3DP Chip is now available for download. For those of you who don’t know what it is, 3DP Chip is a software that can be used to automatically search for new driver updates for your motherboard, video card, sound card, Ethernet adapter and processor.

One of the best things about 3DP Chip is that it does not require an install – the application is portable and doesn’t install any unnecessary system files or startup entries. Just run the small 450kb executable and you will be presented with a list of hardware installed on your system. A single click on the ‘Driver’ button next to a specific device will present you the download link for the latest available driver update for that device. It’s pretty cool.

3DP Chip 9.03 Beta 20 – Automatic driver updates downloader

There is no doubt that security products from ESET such as NOD32 Anti Virus and ESET Smart Security are extremely popular nowadays. ESET recently released version 4 series security software to the market which contained loads of new features and enhancements over the previous v3 series. ESET v4 products have been relatively safe from piracy as most of the hacks and cracks for v3 ceased to work with new product versions. Pirates are slowly overcoming this problem – working cracks and workarounds are slowly appearing for ESET NOD32 4.0 and ESET Smart Security 4.0.

Initial cracks for NOD32 4.0 were limited to extended/unlimited trial workarounds. When applied, the crack extends the 30 day trial period of the product usually indefinitely (or say 10 years). With this method pirates are able to enjoy full benefits of the software including automatic updates over the web, even though the product is technically a trial. A well known unlimited trial for NOD32 and ESS v4.0 seem to be Mara-fix 1.0 and Mara-fix 1.1.

Apart from the trial workarounds, I have seen another new crack for NOD32 and ESS being swapped on file sharing networks and warez forums lately (cracked by SHAHED and uploaded by MAMBO04). This is a little more advanced than a simple unlimited trial hack – it’s actually a pre cracked version of the full software. With this release there is not much the user needs to do – the MSI installer package is modified to make the software pre-cracked.

With version 3.0 ESET gave pirates quite a hard time by blocking pirated copies from their update servers, blacklisting 3rd party update servers and blacklisting widely circulated serials, usernames and passwords. With new cracks emerging for version 4.0 of NOD32 and ESET Smart Security, it will be interesting to see ESET’s response this time around.

Pirates crack ESET NOD32 4.0 and Smart Security 4.0 series security products

Long time readers of FILEnetworks Blog as well as most private tracker enthusiasts should be familiar with Torrent-Damage (TD)tracker. It’s an excellent private General/0Day BitTorrent site which’s been online for more than 4 years. Being a private tracker, Torrent Damage is usually closed for public signups. Since the launch of TDV2, their invites system too had been disabled. Here is some good news for those of you who are willing to get into this tracker –TD invites system is back up and invites have been given to every existing member above ‘Power User’ class.

Note that Torrent-Damage no longer has the boring old layout they used to have about an year ago. Lots of improvements were made to both the tracker and the site during the launch of TDV2 – this included a major user interface overhaul. The site now runs on a new source which is lightning fast, user friendly and full of features. Another recent new addition to TD is the ‘Special Packs’ feature. These are exclusive packs containing movies and music chosen by TD uploaders, Staff and FLS personnel. Torrent Damage currently tracks close to 9500 active torrents and has a user base in excess of 40000 members.

Coming back to the invites topic, it seems that a beta version of the invites system is now online. Several existing user classes have been given free invites (these were in fact given about a week ago):

• Power Users – 2 invites
• VIP – 4 invites
• Uploaders – 5 Invites

If you want a TD invite, the best place to look would be the TD invites IRC channel. It’s quite easy to obtain an invite if you follow the instructions:

1. Join the Torrent-Damage invites IRC channel. Note that the invites channel is only accessible via the web based IRC client Mibbit (mIRC does not work unless you are TD staff or uploader).
   Go to http://mibbit.com/chat/ and enter the following details there:
   Server: irc.torrent-damage.net (click on the ‘server’ link to enter server name) EDIT: If you are unable to connect, try falcon.torrent-damage.net server
   Channel : #td-invite
   Nick: A nickname of your choice 
   
2. Once on the IRC channel, type !invite to get step by step instructions you need to follow in order to get invited.

In case you are wondering, the instructions you’ll get by invoking the !invite command are given below:

1) Take a speedtest from http://www.speedtest.net and LINK us the result (Share your results, Direct Link (third link at the bottom))
2) Make a screenshot of your ratio on any other site OR utorrent/vuze stats
3) Make the ratio screenshot available on an imaging host (eg: tinypic)
4) Announce your screenshots/links to this channel
5) Wait patiently and see if somebody would be kind enough to invite you

TD staff are nice folks – don’t piss them off by spamming the channel or by sending PMs without permission. Follow the instructions and you should easily get into this great tracker. Good Luck!

The recently released Empire : Total War is definitely one of the best PC games to be released in quite a while. The game’s huge popularity has given birth to an active modding community just like in previous Total War games. This article features three cool mods currently available for ETW – The Blood Mod, The Smoke Mod and the Sound mod. How to enable the mods in Empire Total War

Now that you’ve downloaded the mods, you might be wondering how to import them into the game. Simply place them in your ETW data folder in Steam client directory:

1. Remove any older versions of Smoke mod, Blood mod or Sound mod if you have them installed.
2. Download the files. UnRAR them using WinRAR or Winzip 11+
3. Exacted files will have the .pack extension – you need to place these in the Steam data folder for ETW. Default is C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\empire total war\data

Empire Total War - Blood Mod, Music Mod and Smoke Mod Download

UPDATE: SCC now seems to be fully functional again. There does not seem to be any data loss.
Private torrent tracker SCC has now been down for around 2 days. Although we say the site is ‘down’, it’s technically not offline – SCC seems to be having database problems which prevents users from logging in. Initially the site displayed MySQL error messages and returned invalid username/password errors even for legit accounts. Now it simply says “The service is not available. Please try again later.” when trying to access the site or “An internal server error occurred” whenever a user tries to log in.

Apparently SCC staff are aware of the problem and are doing their best to rectify it ASAP. A global message sent on the SCC IRC irc://irc.sceneaccess.org/sceneaccess (Invite Only) is quoted below:

We are currently experiencing issues with the site, and no users are able to login. When the issue is fixed another global message will be sent out indicating such. For now, please be patient as the issue is fixed.

The SCC Support IRC channel irc://irc.sceneaccess.org/scc-support (Open to all) also displays the following topic:

[Site is down atm, will be up asap.]

Note that since they are having database problems, any torrents your are currently seeding/downloading will also be affected (invalid passkey error, etc). Recovering passwords or requesting support on the support channel at this point will be of no use – wait patiently till the site is fully functional again.

Just a brief update on four more private trackers open for signup – Salad.TL, Scene-Inspired (S-I), SuperTorrents (ST) and STMusic (STM) are all open for signup as of 21/3/2009. Salad.TL, Scene-Inspired, STMusic and STM Trackers Signups Open

Microsoft released the final build of highly anticipated Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) two days ago. IE8 is packed with new features such as smart address bar, session saving, tab groups, CSS 2.1 support, accelerators, web slices, instant search as well as various other reliability and security enhancements. Also, web browsing/loading speeds on IE8 were considerably faster compared to predecessors. It’s definitely a huge improvement over Internet Explorer 7 and perhaps the best IE release yet by Microsoft.

You can now download the full installer for IE 8 final directly from Microsoft. It’s a recommended upgrade for anyone who is using IE7 or pre-release/RC builds of IE8.

Internet Explorer 8 Final Standalone/Offline Installer Direct Download Links

Private BitTorrent trackers are probably one of the fastest mediums to download new and old movie, music, game and TV Show releases. However, on most private trackers, you need to maintain a minimum upload:download ratio (you need to upload a similar amount of data you downloaded) in order to survive without getting banned. Apparently some users don’t like this system and try to cheat their ratio using hacked clients, modded clients, data spoofing and other methods.

Now that we’ve got your attention with the fake title, let us tell you that this article won’t teach you how to cheat on private torrent trackers (even if there was a 100% safe way of doing that, which there isn’t). Instead, we’ll tell you how to build your ratio without resorting to cheating – yes, there are many legitimate methods.

Why do private trackers have a ratio system?

As we said earlier, one of the main advantages that a private tracker has over public trackers is the high download speeds. BitTorrent community is based on ‘sharing’ – if you take something, you have to give something back. BitTorrent trackers themselves don’t host any files – they merely help you track pieces of the file you are downloading. You actually download the file from hard drives of other users connected to the tracker (like you). Now what if everybody decided to stop uploading or spoof upload data? You won’t be able to download the file at all. Public trackers are plagued with hit and runners (those who immediately stop uploading once the torrent download is finished) and they are the primary cause of slow download speeds. This is why most trackers implement a ratio system– they ensure that everyone ‘gives something back’.

Why you shouldn’t cheat on private torrent trackers

First of all there is no 100% safe tool or method for BitTorrent ratio cheating. One way or the other you’ll get caught and when you do, it usually results in a lifetime ban. There are many ways for tracker administrators and staff to detect cheaters:

• Scripts -  Most private trackers have scripts can detect cheaters based on their behavior. Such scripts can detect most hacked, modded or banned BitTorrent clients almost instantaneously.
• Other users – Other members of the tracker can report you to administrators if they find anything suspicious in your stats, snatchlist data, etc. This is usually done via the ‘report this user’ button located in each user’s profile page.
• Peer list – Almost every BitTorrent client shows a list of connected peers for a specific torrent. Majority of hacked or modded clients become exposed in this peerlist when they begin to display true client details instead of spoofed data. It’s only a matter of time till someone else in the peerlist notices you and reports you to the admins.
• BTBan Project – BTBan (http://btban.net/) is a new project aimed at stopping cheaters, traders and other scammers on private trackers. More information can be found here. EDIT: The site has been down for quite a while. The project may have been abandoned.

So i got caught cheating. Now what?

The punishment for ratio cheating is almost always a lifetime ban from the tracker. One thing most users don’t know is that you can get banned from several trackers at once if you get caught cheating on at least one. Tracker staff talk to each other usually on IRC and they willingly share information about cheaters and other scammers. So if you cheat on one tracker, expect to get banned on several others. The ban is usually based on your IP address. Don’t feel so safe if you have a dynamic IP  - ever heard of range bans and country bans?

How can I improve my ratio without resorting to cheating?

Although many users are unaware, there are many other ways than spoofing or faking your ratio to survive on private trackers. Some are mentioned below:

Free leech periods – Most private torrent trackers have something called free leech. When a torrent is on free leech, only the upload amount gets counted in your global ratio (you still need to seed the torrent back in most cases). This is an excellent way to build your overall ratio. Some trackers have free leech on selected torrents (packs, exclusive releases, etc) while there have been occasions where entire torrent indexes have been placed on free leech for several days. Free leech is usually notified via site news or mass PM.

Seed hours/Seed bonus – Some trackers maintain a points system usually identified as seed bonus (for example in BCG), credits or karma bonus system. What most people don’t know is that the points you earn can be redeemed as upload credit (Ex- spend 100 points for 2.5Gb upload added to your ratio). Points can usually be earned by seeding for extended times, taking part in competitions, etc (If a site featured on FILEnetworks Blog comes with a bonus points system, we usually mention it in the article so keep your eyes peeled).

Upload multiplier – Maybe you’ve noticed on some trackers about ‘double upload’ or 2X/4X upload bonuses. When an upload multiplier is enabled for a torrent, the actual amount of data you upload is added to your stats with a multiplier (Ex- Seed 2GB on a double upload enabled torrent and you’ll be credited with 2x2=4GB credit). Sites such as ScL have a dynamic upload multiplier which changes frequently and applies to both download and upload.  

Competitions – Most private trackers have various competitions which are open to all members. These competitions are not there purely for fun – if you manage to win one you’ll usually get a load of upload credit as the prize (For example the RevolutionTT holiday IRC competition in which winners received 30GB free upload credit).

Donations – This is perhaps the least popular way of obtaining upload credit. But the fact is that if you donate to a private tracker, you not only help the admins to run the site but you’ll usually receive loads of goodies such as free upload credit, special upload multipliers, VIP membership, etc.

Ratio free trackers – If the hatred for a ratio system is in your blood and you still want to use private trackers, give ratio free trackers a go. Unlike the several years ago, nowadays ratio free trackers are not rare and it’s not hard to get into such sites at all. Here is a list of no ratio trackers that are open for public signup.

Semi private trackers – Although not a replacement for private trackers, these sites are marginally better than public BitTorrent sites. Two good semi private trackers are H33T and Demonoid.com

Sort by leechers and download – This is an often overlooked tactic which can be used to improve your ratio on hard to survive trackers. As you may have noticed, some sites allow sorting the torrent index by number of seeders/leechers. If you sort the list by leechers (descending order), you’ll get the torrents with highest demand on the tracker. Jump on these torrent and start uploading – it’s a good way to earn upload credit.

Remember that sharing is caring – cheating simply ain’t worth it.

How to spoof, fake and cheat ratio on private BitTorrent trackers

If you live in the U.S. chances are high that you know about The Howard Stern Show. It’s a long running radio talk show which has gained huge popularity over the years. Actually the show is so popular that there exists a private torrent tracker dedicated to tracking recordings of the show; Redskunk is a BitTorrent tracker that has lots of audio recordings of the Howard Stern Show in several bitrate formats (see categories below for more information).

Even being a niche torrent tracker, Redskunk is not short of members nor torrents. Currently there are over 4300 active torrents and over 13000 users on this tracker. As for the content on the site it’s all about Howard Stern. New torrents are added daily and updated content is made available on the tracker at regular intervals.  Each audio file is usually available in several bitrates (24k, 64k, 128k etc). If you feel the file size is too large, try downloading a low bitrate version of the recording.

Download Howard Stern Show Torrents From Redskunk Tracker

First of all let us tell you that this is a brand new private tracker that’s just launched. JucyBitz is a Gazelle based games torrent tracker with both PC and console games. The site seems to be focusing a lot on old school titles such as Super Mari Bros, Metroid, Megaman, etc. From what it looks like JuciyBitz will index a lot of ROMs for console games designed for the SNES, PC Engine, Sega Genesis, MAME, Amiga and more (ROM files are images of game cartridges – these can be used in conjunction with an emulator to play console games on the PC).

As mentioned earlier this is a brand new tracker. Currently there are only 10 torrents indexed, all of which were added in the last 24 hours. Number of registered users hovers around 50 (statistics as of 19/3/2009). These stats will most likely improve as the site gains more popularity in the coming days.

Speaking of the content on JuicyBitz, they seem to be focusing a lot on ROMS for retro games designed for older gaming consoles. Below is a screenshot of some of the torrents currently added to the tracker:

JuicyBitz comes with 4 stylesheets for the Gazelle template it’s based on. Like most Gazelle trackers, the layout is sleep, fast and very much navigable. Apart from the above there is not much that can be said about this tracker at this point – JuicyBitz so new to the BitTorrent scene and only time will tell how it fares among other gaming trackers out there.

Restricted-Zone, Badbits, Wunza and ExtremeShare torrent trackers open

Scene group RELOADED have cracked and leaked The Last Remnant, an RPG game published by Square Enix. RELOADED’s release has made its way into public domain even before the game’s official release date – Last Remnant is scheduled to be released on the 20th in EU (Europe), 24th in NA (North America) and 9th of April in Japan. The game was protected by Valve’s Steam content distribution mechanism but RELOADED appears to have either cracked or bypassed the protection in this release.

Pirates crack ‘The Last Remnant’ (PC)

Last month was a good one for BitTorrent downloaders who are fans of Wrestling. Lots of good Wrestling/MMA trackers opened public registrations and most of these were featured on FILEnetworks Blog. Here is some even more good news for Wrestling torrent fans – World Wrestling Torrents (WWT) is a new private torrent tracker specializing in wrestling content. It is the first dedicated wrestling tracker based on the new Gazelle codebase.

There are no heavy customizations done to the Gazelle script utilized – the layout of WWT is basically the same as the layout of an out of the box Gazelle tracker. Either way WWT has a strong user base of around 4000 members which is good when it comes to a relatively new niche tracker. However the number of indexed torrents is not so impressive – currently there are only around 60 torrents online. IMHO they need to focus on adding more torrents to the tracker as the torrent count has been going up pretty slowly over the past few weeks.

As for the content on WWT, it tracks both scene and non scene content related to Wrestling (see full torrent category list towards the end of article). Among the torrents indexed are some packs which are worth checking out:

World Wrestling Torrents – Gazelle based Wrestling tracker open

Scene group SKIDROW have managed to released a working copy of  Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. right on the game’s official North American release date. One of the more interesting things about this release is that H.A.W.X does not come with any sort of DRM or other copy protection measures embedded. This has perhaps made things easier for SKIDROW, a group that usually releases low budget PC titles (mind you they topped game scene charts in January 2009).

This is the third major PC title by UBISOFT to be released without anti piracy measures in the past few months (first two being Prince of Persia (2008) and Tom Clancy’s Endwar). Anyway the game has leaked all the same with SKIDROW releasing a full DVD ISO (6.1GB) which can be used by pirates to play the game. SKIDROW’s release has already made its way onto private torrent trackers-

H.A.W.X. (High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron) is an interesting looking title which focuses on aerial combat – something we haven’t seen before in a Tom Clancy game. The game has so far scored a respectable aggregate review score of 76% on GameRankings.

Red Alert 3 Uprising Trainer by RazorDox

I was going to post about a new software release but just noticed that two good private trackers were open for signup. Arabfilms which is an Arabic movie torrent tracker as well as ElbitZ, an English E-Learning tracker are both open for public registrations as of now. ElbitZ usually opens its doors to the public about once a month. On the contrary, Arabfilms rarely has open signups - you have to pay for VIP membership to get in when its closed.

Open Private Trackers – Python’s Lair, A4N, ExDesi, My-Gamebox & More (15 March, 2009)

On one of my machines I use an ADSL USB modem instead of a router. Unlike a router, this modem uses a dial up connection to connect to the internet – it does not automatically connect to the net when the system is booted up and nor does it automatically reconnect if the line is dropped. For those who are used to (or prefer) automated connection/re-connection, this can be pretty painful. This article tells you how to configure your dial up connection to auto connect at startup & to auto redial upon disconnection.

How to configure your ADSL modem to automatically connect at startup

For this to work, you need to have your dial up connection set up and username, password and phone number saved on the connection.

On Windows XP:

1. Open Control Panel and open Network Connections
2. Dial up and LAN connections you have created on your machine will be listed. Find the dial up connection you want to auto dial on startup, right click it and select properties.
3. Open the ‘Options’ tab. Uncheck the checkbox that says ‘Prompt for name, password, certificate, etc”. Also uncheck the ‘Prompt for phone number’ checkbox.
4. Press ok to close the options dialog.
5. Back in the Network Connections window, right click the dial up connection you just modified and click ‘create a shortcut’. Allow the shortcut to be placed on desktop as per the warning message.
6. Cut the shortcut from the desktop and paste it in your Start Menu—>Startup folder.

On Windows Vista

1. Open control panel and open Network and sharing center
2. From the list of options on the left panel, choose ‘manage network connections’. Dial up and LAN connections you have created on your machine will be listed. Find the dial up connection you want to auto dial on startup, right click it and select properties.
3. Steps 3 and onwards are the same for both Windows XP and Vista (follow instructions for XP method above)

How to configure your dial up connection to automatically redial if disconnected

On Windows XP

1. Open Control Panel and open Network Connections
2. Dial up and LAN connections you have created on your machine will be listed. Find the dial up connection you want to auto dial on startup, right click it and select properties.
3. Open the ‘Options’ tab. Under redial options, set the number of redial attempts to a number greater than 0 (something like 3 or 5 will do)
4. Set time between redial attempts to 30 seconds (some modems take some time to re-initialize after disconnection)
5. Check the ‘Redial if line is dropped’ check box and click ok to save and close the dialog box.
6. OPTIONAL: You may want to change your power saver settings so that the PC never auto switches to standby mode. Sometimes the computer go on standby before dial up networking can establish a new connection (if line dropped during an idle period).

On Windows Vista

1. Open control panel and open Network and sharing center
2. From the list of options on the left panel, choose ‘manage network connections’. Dial up and LAN connections you have created on your machine will be listed. Find the dial up connection you want to auto dial on startup, right click it and select properties.
3. Steps 3 and onwards are the same for both Windows XP and Vista (follow instructions for XP method above)

How to configure ADSL modem to auto dial on startup & auto reconnect upon disconnection (XP/Vista)

About three days ago we reported how the General/0Day private torrent tracker FunFile went offline without notice. Initially it was speculated that the tracker had run out of donations and but we were later informed that it was a RAID failure which brought the site down (as with any thread about FunFile, there was a quite a lot of drama involved - read the comments). We promised in our previous article to update on any new developments with this tracker – good news is that the site is back online.

There is a long notice about the downtime posted on the FunFile homepage – first part of it is quoted below:

As you are no doubt aware we are now back online, It was about 12AM and I got a notice that FunFile had suffered an unknown failure. Long story short we called SoftLayer and determined that the RAID controller for the box had 'broken' and couldn't see half the devices on the array. After spending half the day trying to recover the data from the array, we wrote it off as a lost cause since repairing the inodes one at a time would have taken literally days of mind numbing work.

Attemping to find the Silver Lining we decided to use this as a chance to rework FunFiles hardware and streamline it as much as possible, as well as trying to get as much speed as possible to reduce load times ect...
Result:
2x Intel Quad Core @ 2.66GHz
8GB ECC DDR2 RAM
4x Intel 64G SSD in RAID

FunFile back online – with open signups

If you don’t know what it is, iFi is another of those secret trackers with a fake login page, rules against public mention of URL, giveaways & trades, etc. News is that both the site and the BitTorrent tracker will close down for an indefinite period of time pending maintenance. Earlier there was an attempt by iFi staff to migrate to the Gazelle codebase but this did not prove to be successful. From what we know, the goal of downtime is not to move to Gazelle but to further improve the layout and site functions.

Quoted below is a notice sent by iFi staff regarding the upcoming downtime:

As mentioned earlier iFi is a ‘secret’ tracker with a very small community of less than 1000 members. It’s a general/0day tracker with mostly scene releases (which can also be found on most other general trackers as well). One of the positives about iFi is that they have a nice looking layout. Apart from that I really feel it could do with some more leecher/seeder activity as well more indexed torrents.

iFi tracker to be down pending maintenance

After severalSteamreleased titles we have a DRM enabled PC game. And what has RELOADED done with it? They’ve cracked the hell out of it as usual. Red Alert 3 : Uprising is an standalone expansion to last year’s real time strategy game Red Alert 3. (standalone expansion means that you do not need original RA3 to play this). As with most recently released EA games, Uprising is (or rather ‘was’) protected by SecuROM DRM. Unlike its predecessor, this expansion is only distributed digitally – there is no retail version of the game.

RELOADED’s NFO contains details related to the game’s digital-only distribution and the contents of their release:

This version is not retail in that it is not for sale in any brick and
mortar store. But as you see the DVD image is exactly like any EA retail.

RELOADED have released the full game files in the form of an ISO image, a key generator that is seemingly capable of generating valid serials and CD keys for Red Alert 3 Uprising as well as a cracked executable with SecuROM protection removed. SecuROM API allows developers to insert triggers (checks) at various points in game and if triggered these mess up a critical part of the game, usually rendering the game unplayable. It is still unknown if RA3 : Uprising had any SecuROM triggers or if RELOADED managed to remove all of them (if any). Note that it was this very same group who cracked the original Red Alert 3 in last December which was also protected using SecuROM.

RELOADED release (Command.And.Conquer.Red.Alert.3.Uprising-RELOADED) which is around 5.1GB in size has made its way from scene topsites to private torrent trackers, one click hosting sites and so on.

What new features are there in Red Alert 3 Uprising?

From what I know, the following are the main new features introduced in Uprising expansion:

• Four new campaigns – 4 new mini campaigns each with 4 new single players missions
• Eleven deadly new over-the-top units - 11 new units from the Soviets, Allies, and Empire of the Rising Sun, such as the Cryo Legionaire, the Steel Ronin, and the Desolator!

Where to download new and old aXXo torrents - Real, non fake movies

This site was briefly mentioned in two of our previous posts but it deserves a separate post since it’s such a wonderful community. If you’ve been playing PC games you may have heard about Steam, the content distribution platform created by Valve. Steam was initially termed as the perfect solution for PC game piracy but that was only until hacked clients and Steam rips of games appeared. If you are thinking of pirating Steam protected PC games check out CS.RIN.RU – an underground community specializing in all sorts of steam rips and hacks.

Most non Russian users visit  http://CS.RIN.RU only to find that it’s a site completely in Russian. But that’s not where all the fun is – did you know that RIN has an English forum (see end of article for link)? It’s an active forum which has cracks, patchers, emulators, launchers, hacked clients, non Steam gaming servers and other tools for Steam. There is also a downloads section where standalone Steam games and Steam rips (both GCF (Game Cache File) and NCF (No Cache File) based titles) are available for download. One great thing about CS.RIN.RU is that it even provides updates for the games available for download. Download full Steam games & hacks from CS.RIN.RU underground community

A new Game Scene Charts issue has been released. Game Scene Charts is a coded magazine that evaluates and ranks the performance of game release groups from the warez scene (a detailed description on TGSC including an outline of magazine format can be found in our article about the previous issue). TGSC Issue 29 summarizes the performance of scene groups in the month of January 2009.

According to the editor the number of points allocated for releasing an unprotected PC game has been lowered from 5.5 to 3.0 from this issue onwards. IMHO this should bring more balance to the overall results.

As for the results, group SKIDROW leads the January 2009 rankings with 61 points while Razor1911 wins the second place with 50.3 points. 3rd place goes to POSTMORTEM who’s collected 32 points this month. All time rankings are still lead by RELOADED whose got a massive score of 1975.

The Game Scene Charts – Issue 29 (January 2009)

Out of the several hundred public and private BitTorrent trackers posted here on FILEnetworks Blog, only a handful sites such as MVGroup, Docs4You, OneBigTorrent, Conspiracy Central, etc specialize in documentary series torrents.  Son of Shun is the latest addition to our list of specialized documentary sites-  it’s a private forum which contains several thousand verified documentary torrents, most of which are tracked by public torrent trackers. In short, it’s a great resource for documentary lovers.

Son of Shun indexes torrents of documentaries aired on TV, cable, satellite and other networks. DVD documentaries too are sometimes indexed. Son of Shun however does not allow any documentaries aired on subscription networks such as HBO, Showtime, etc (with several exceptions, though). if you are too lazy to navigate forum threads - a full list of torrents can be found through this direct link.

 

Note that every single torrent found on this site are tracked by public torrent trackers. There is a specific uploader rule set against the uploading of private torrents:

Torrents must be listed on 100% public trackers; No trackers that require you to sign up, and no trackers with wait times or requiring DHT or other extended features.

Download TV and DVD documentary series torrents from Son of Shun

RazorDox, have come up with a cracked update for the recently released Empire : Total War. RazorDox is a sub division of Razor1911 which is responsible for releasing trainers, add-ons and cracked update patches for PC games. Anyways the release of ETW update should be welcome news for those who pirated the game as cracked versions were prone to various issues. Also note that this update seems to fix the missing sound effects issue that was present in almost all pirated versions of Empire : Total War.

The following is quoted from Razor1911 NFO:

You need a clean installation of our release!

If you modified , replaced or renamed any files of the game while attempting to fix the bugs, it’s always better to uninstall, run a registry cleaner, reinstall and then attempt to run the update patch on the new installation.

Given below are a set of issues address by the update patch (applies to both pirated and legitimate versions):

• Fixed Alt-Tab issue which prevents players from switching away from a full screen window
• Fixed text rendering for certain resolutions
• Fixed localized font overrun issues.
• Fixed a variety of crash and memory leak issues
• Fixed a variety of multiplayer client lock
• Fixed trade nodes for those nations with resource in home region which caused unprofitable trade theatre routes eg: Sweden and Marathas.

Empire : Total War cracked update patch released by RazorDox

For long time readers of FILEnetworks Blog, an introduction about TorrentBits.Ro (TBS) would be unnecessary – there’s been several posts here about this great private torrent tracker including a recent review of the site. This post is regarding the launch of TorrentBits V4 – a major overhaul of the user interface and site layout along with many other enhancements. Note that TorrentBits V4 is still in beta - new features not discussed here may be introduced in the future.

First thing you’ll notice after logging into TorrentBits V4 will be the new site logo. The top toolbar, categories and the search bar too now sport a flashy new look. Maybe it’s just me but the site navigation speed seems to have improved as well. Actually most of the features implemented in TBS V4 are currently limited to changes in the user interface and layout. Not all of the site’s sections including the forums have been redesigned for V4 yet.

Improvements have also been made to TBS Radio, the live streaming internet radio station run by TorrentBits. This now has a separate site http://www.tbsradio.ro/.

The content on TorrrentBits.Ro remain largely unchanged – it’s still a huge private torrent tracker with over 55000 members and 13000+ active torrents. The site has average pre times, excellent download speeds and lots and lots of great packs.

At last check, TBS signups were open. If they have closed by the time you read this, keep trying since the doors open at regular intervals.

TorrentBits V4 Beta Launched

The games keep coming don’t they? Watchmen : The End Is Nigh, the first part of Watchmen video game series, has leaked on BitTorrent. This is a Steam released title but that hasn’t stopped the pirates from obtaining and distributing the game on p2p networks. So far there hasnt been a scene release of the game. There has however been several different versions released such as GTi (Game-Torrents) and THEPIRATEGAY (identified on some trackers as NoGrp).

From what it looks like, the executable from the game’s Demo version is used for bypassing Steam protection. As with most Steam games there is no actual crack – the workaround seems to work nevertheless. Since this is only the first episode, the release is around 1.6GB in file size. 

Watchmen The End Is Night is an episodic video game series based on the Watchmen comics. Although not a hugely popular title, this game is definitely fun to play. The PC version of the first episode has got a respectable score of 65% on GameRankings. Check it out.

Pirates crack Watchmen: The End Is Nigh (PC)

A little late on this update but this is to let you know that scene group ViTALiTY released World in Conflict : Soviet Assault a few hours ago. World in Conflict : Soviet Assault is an expansion pack for the popular 2007 RTS game ‘World in Conflict’. Note that Soviet Assault is not a standalone expansion – you need the original game in order to play this one. As the name suggests, you get to play as the Soviets in the expansion.

Although the title of this article says 'pirates ‘crack’ WIC, ViTALiTY release does not contain a cracked exe. Instead they’ve provided the latest update to the original game as well as a serial number for the expansion which is all pirates need to get this release working.

As usual, the leaked version has already spread to private torrent trackers:

Pirates crack World in Conflict : Soviet Assault

Private torrent tracker FunFile is currently offline. The site went down suddenly without many announcements and lots of members were left wondering what exactly happened to the tracker. The exact reason for downtime is unconfirmed as of yet. As of this moment (11/3/09) FunFile.org site and the BitTorrent tracker are both offline.
UPDATE: The site homepage is now back up and according to the notice posted there the entire site should be fully operational shortly. Reason for downtime seems to be a RAID failure and NOT a lack of donations.

 

We will be back up and running ASAP.

2009-Mar-11 00:33 (GMT+0100) [Update 4] The server is reporting that some of the units in the RAID array are reporting as missing. Because of this the server sees no logical devices to boot from. I am trying to ascertain why the server is doing this and what I can do to get this corrected.

Funfile is down

PTFiles (PTF) is a private torrent tracker for general, zero day releases. This tracker went online in mid 2008 as a reincarnation of Phoenix-Torrents, a defunct general tracker. Since then, PTF has grown steadily and by now the site has become a good community for BitTorrent downloaders. An overhauled version of PTFiles (titled PTF 2.0) was recently launched with lots of new features along with enhancements to site interface and navigation.

In terms of content, PTFiles tracks both scene and non scene releases. As of 10/3/2009, there were close to 2750 users and 1850+ active torrents on this tracker. From scene releases to torrents unique to this tracker, PTFiles has a healthy flow of new torrents. The following screenshot captures several of the unique torrent packs uploaded to PTF. More similar packs can be found under the TV Packs/Seasons and Movies/Packs categories on the tracker.

When it comes to new features & enhancements, PTF 2.0 is packed with them. Apart from standard BitTorrent tracker features such as arcade, shoutbox, forum, trivia, etc, some really cool features such as the ability to create new themes (thanks to this feature PTF now has over 35 themes), the genres feature, all kinds of bonus systems (reputation points, karma bonus points, IRC seed bonus, etc), Requests/Offers sections, Wiki and lots more. PTFiles tracker – For scene and non scene torrents (general content)

Miro is a product that’s created quite a buzz in the past few months. It’s basically a HD video player with tight internet integration. You get access to more than 6000 free internet TV shows and podcasts and these can all be played right from Miro itself  – no need for additional codecs or software. Apart from video playback, Miro is capable of downloading shows to hard disk as well. A number of video sites such as YouTube, Blip and Google video are supported. Another great feature of this software is the support for RSS based BitTorrent downloads (powered by libtorrent).

SuperTorrents, STMusic, CZONE, PTP and 7 other BitTorrent trackers open for signup

Since we’ve posted about HD-Bits.Ro open signups several times on FILEnetworks Blog, it’s safe to assume that there are lots of readers here who are also members of this popular HD torrent tracker. If you are an existing member of HD-Bits.Ro, you may find this news interesting. From this month onwards, HD-Bits has imposed a minimum monthly traffic requirement of 10GB. That is, your average monthly traffic (upload + download) should exceed 10GB if you are to continue being a member of this tracker.

A mass PM sent to all user classes explains the new rules in detail:

Rules: " Accounts with a cumulate traffic (download and upload) less than 10GB/month will be disabled after a 1-week warning.
This is an average value, actually you are not forced to upload/download every month. Freelech download isn't taken into account."

Receiving a warn means you have 1 week to increase your traffic to an average of 10GB/month. If you don't, your account will be disabled.

Example: for a 6 months old account, the cumulate traffic (upload plus download) should be at least 60GB.

It looks as if HD-Bits.Ro is trying to filter our less active users on the tracker. Considering that this is a torrent tracker for HD content, a monthly 10GB traffic requirement seems reasonable. If you download a x264 Blu-Ray movie which is usually around 4.5GB in size and seed it back to a ratio of 1:1, that’s 9GB traffic right there.

HD-Bits.Ro is not the first private tracker to impose minimum traffic limits. Several other HD trackers including HDB too have similar rules when it comes to monthly download/upload amount.

HD-Bits.Ro imposes minimum monthly traffic requirement

First of all this is a pretty old program which was released back in year 2002. Even though the app is around 7 years old, it still works even on modern day executables. Resource Hacker is a small utility that allows you to view, modify, add, delete, and extract resources in Windows executables. Uses of this application can be various. It can not only display the internal structure of exe files but can even make small modifications to them too (for example change the text in the about Window or change the icon of an exe).

Note that you should always backup the executables before making any changes to them. Some edits may crash the exes and/or may introduce new non fatal errors.

Resource Hacker 3.4.0 – Edit and extract resources from Windows exe files

Some good news if you are interested in Indian movie/TV and music torrents. ICTorrent is a forum based private torrent tracker specializing in all kinds of Desi releases. ICT is a relatively new entrant to the BitTorrent scene but the site has already managed to acquire a reasonable user base. Almost all new major Desi scene and p2p releases can be downloaded from this tracker. ICT has pretty active forums for a startup BitTorrent site as well.

As of 08/03/2009, ICT tracks around 400 torrents and has an active user base close to 10000 members. Note that ICTorrrents is a forum based tracker – you can find the torrents and associated discussions by browsing categorized forum threads. If you prefer a full list of new torrents along with real time seeder/leecher information, I suggest you use http://www.ictorrent.com/forums/torrents.php page.

As for the content on ICT, vast majority are Bollywood/Hindi movies (Pre–DVD, DVD5, DVDRip, etc) . There are some Tamil and other regional movies along with Indian music torrents, TV torrents, stageshows and even a mobile section with appz, themes, etc. Most of the torrents found in ICTorrent can also be found on other Indian private trackers such as ExDesi, DesiTorrents and DCTorrent. However they do have an affiliated desi p2p release group named IcTv whose releases can only be found on ICTorrent tracker.

ICTorrent is usually closed for new user registrations and often requires an invite to join. The good news is that during this weekend public signups are open. If you are a fan of Indian/Hindi/Bollywood stuff, register a free account now and check this tracker out – there is a good chance you might like ICT.

MMA Tracker signups open – No invite needed (MMA/Boxing/Martial Arts Torrents)

Our continued coverage of Empire : Total War continues, not only because it’s probably the greatest PC game released so far in 2009 but because a great community of users have already flocked around ETW, releasing cool new tools for the game even it’s only been a few days since the game’s release. Latest community made mode for ETW is the ‘All Factions Unlocker’, a new patch that’ll allow you to play as about a dozen new factions which are unplayable by default.

  and the list goes on….. 

With the unlocker, you get access to more than 30 playable factions. Note that for now you can only play custom battles with using the unlocked factions.

How to use the unlocker

There is no rocket science involved here – the process is pretty simple.

1. Download the patch.pack using the download link below.
2. Navigate to your Empire : Total War folder and locate the existing patch.pack file. Create a backup of this file as a precaution.
3. Now replace the patch.pack file with the file you downloaded in step 1.
4. Start the game, go to custom battle and you will be able to play as any of the newly unlocked factions as well as all default factions.

Empire :Total War All Factions Unlocker

As we’ve highlighted in several previous articles, release groups from the warez scene use high speed FTP servers known as topsites to store movies, music, software, games and all sorts of other pirated material in digital form. These topsites are scattered across the world and operate in utmost secrecy in fear of legal action by authorities. ‘Sunnydale’ was one such topsite which was based in Sweden. Despite all attempts by the scene to conceal its existence, Swedish authorities have raided the servers and made one arrest.

Sunnydale was a ring of around 10 FTP servers – one of these was busted by the police and the rest were take down by the OP to prevent further compromise. What’s worrying about this development is that it’s not everyday topsites get busted. We frequently hear about P2L (Pay-To-Leech) sites such as TV-Land and BitTorrent trackers get shut down but topsites are generally considered to be safe from prying eyes. Anyway Sunnydale was just one of the many topsites in existence - it getting busted is unlikely to have a lasting impact on the scene, although the site’s affiliated release groups may be affected in the short term.

Some history – Is Sunnydale the first topsite to get raided?

The simple answer is no. Comparing to what the scene went through during Operation Fastlink (2004), Operation Site Down (2005) and Operation Buccaneer (2001), Sunnydale bust seems like nothing. These were major international anti piracy operations launched simultaneously across multiple countries by law enforcement agencies such as the FBI. A large number of scene members were arrested and several topsites were taken down, all at the same time. The following NFO released by Fairlight (FLT) few days after Operation Fast Link hit them sums up the grim picture that surrounded the scene back in those days (note the text in bold):

You all read the news - Operation Fastlink struck hard to the heart of the scene and hit the FairLight ISO section, but mind that the demo activities on the PC and C64 are still naturally untouched, as there is nothing to complain about from a legal point of view on what they are doing.

So, let me underline it for you again: FairLight's ISO section is lethally wounded, but the group as such is still alive and kicking! FairLight is built stronger to last longer. FairLight is bigger than one and even all of the sections. FairLight is and you can rely on the fact that FairLight will continue to be!

Respects to the Fastlink people for finding the core of the scene, which is not an easy thing to do. They are doing their job and we're not whining! In war, people take bullets - we are aware of this! If you can't stand the sight of body bags, then stand back and let the real men do the work for you.

We attack, adapt, improvise and survive! We are FairLight and will continue to be FairLight. FairLight IS the delight of ETERNAL might!

And it was not only FLT who suffered – members from many other well known groups such as DEViANCE, CLASS, Razor1911, DoD, PWZ were arrested. In addition to the arrests, operation site down busted around 11 topsites including RM1, RM2 (operated by group RiSCiSO), SC, VS, TNA, BB. TEN, TWH, LW, etc. Although these operations brought the scene to a standstill for a few days (there were very few or no scene release for several days following the raids), it wasn’t the end. Some of the groups who were raided back then (FLT and RZR included) are still in operation and several new groups have been formed as well. The scene did not die as expected and instead, it’s very much alive several years later even in 2009.

Sunnydale scene topsite raided and shut down

The release candidate (RC) version of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) has finally been released to the public. Vista SP2 RC (and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2) was initially only available to Microsoft Technet subscribers and MSDN subscribers. Although not quite the final release, SP2 RC includes a number of new improvements over the SP2 Beta released earlier. Wild-Bytes back online, Radioarchive tracker, Demonoid, & StB signups open

Although we’ve posted about a dozen wrestling/MMA torrent trackers, a full review of a dedicated boxing tracker has never been posted here on FILEnetworks Blog. Well here goes - a BitTorrent site that’ll be a great resource for Boxing fans. World Boxing Video Archive is a private torrent tracker specializing in all things boxing. From match videos to TV documentaries, this tracker probably has the largest database of boxing related torrents online.

World Boxing Video Archive (referred to WBVA from now on), is not a new tracker by any means – it’s a well established torrent site with over 9200 active members. As of 7/3/2009 WBVA tracks over 4700 active torrents.

The content on this tracker is pretty huge. It ranges from live match video recordings, highlight videos, TV documentaries (including ones from premium channels such as ESPN, Sky Sports, HBO, etc) to even DVDs related to boxing are shared on the tracker.

Note that some torrents carry the ‘WBVA’ tag – torrents marked with this tag are unique to this tracker. You will most likely not find them in any other private or public BitTorrent site.

World Boxing Video Archive – Download Boxing Torrents

I’m pretty impressed with the speed NVIDIA releases new driver updates. Whenever a major PC title hits the market, they release a new set of drivers that are aimed at minimizing problems with the latest release. Just after Empire:Total War was released, NVIDIA have released ForceWare drivers v182.08 (release 182) to the public. If you are playing ETW or any other new PC game, upgrading to 182.08 is recommended.

I’ve installed these drivers and tried playing Empire:Total War but I could not observe a noticeable performance gain over 182.06 drivers. Release notes for this version are given below:

New in Release 182.08:

• Added support for GeForce GTS 250.
• Added SLI profile support for some newly released games.
• Additional information on specific bug fixes can be found in the release documentation notes.
• Users without US English operating systems can select their language and download the International driver.

So maybe 182.08 does not include any performance enhancements over 182.06 at all? Only way to decide which version to keep is to try several drivers with a new PC title (that is optimized) and observe the results.

NVIDIA GeForce ForceWare Drivers 182.08 Direct Download

Several years ago, almost all movie rips circulating on the internet were those released by groups in the warez scene. This scenario is now different; over past few years popularity of p2p technologies such as BitTorrent have increased and this has given birth to entirely p2p based releasers and crackers, forming the p2p scene. If you’ve been downloading Blu Ray movies or other HD content via BitTorrent, the name EuReKa might sound familiar. EuReKa is a p2p based HD content releaser who was also an encoder at HDbits.org. This post is about Awesome-HD, a new private torrent tracker specializing in non scene HD content which was started several weeks ago by EuReKa himself.

Although it’s only been a short time since Awesome-HD went online, the site has already attracted over 2500 members (EuReKa’s popularity on various BitTorrent trackers may have had an influence here) and tracks close to 140 torrents (stats as of 6/3/2009). Note that this tracker specializes in HD content only – almost all the included releases are x264 encoded Blu Ray movies. Another interesting fact about Awesome HD is that it only allows non-scene/p2p releases to be uploaded. Expect to find a lot of releases by p2p groups such as ESiR, CtrlHD, BTT, DON, iLL and of course EuReKA on Awesome HD.

One great thing I noticed about this tracker is that unlike most other start up sites, Awesome HD did not have any trouble with seeder activity; There are plenty of seeders for most of the popular movie torrents indexed. At last check, there were lots of torrents on free leech as well.

The site is currently open for signup. If you have an interest in HD content released by p2p groups (which are not available on scene trackers such as SCC or ScT), go ahead and create an account.

Awesome-HD – New HD torrent tracker with p2p releases (Blu-Ray/x264)

About a day ago Razor1911 cracked and released the highly anticipated Empire : Total War for the PC. The DOX division of Razor1911 (RazorDoX) have come up with a money trainer for the game. When run in background, this trainer adds $10000 money to your empire every time the user presses the F1 key. Note that using trainers with games such as Empire : Total War can really kill the gameplay value.

Empire : Total War Money Trainer by RazorDox - Download

Older readers of FILEnetworks Blog may recall a general/0Day tracker called SceneLinks.Ro. It was a decent general tracker back in its day but the site went offline sometime in mid 2008. Then it came back online last August but this revival was only short lived – the site was down again in a few days (mobile.scenelinks.ro was the only part of SceneLinks that remained online – a mobile appz tracker with open reg). Now in 2009, SceneLinks has re-launched under a new name, AlfaScene.

AlfaScene too is a General/0Day tracker. It retains the sleek looking user interface which was one of the positives about old SceneLinks.ro. AlfaScene however is a brand new site and has had to start everything from scratch (perhaps the old users of SceneLinks.Ro who were directed to BitShock tracker may want to check this out?). The site currently tracks about 100 torrents with new ones being added all the time.

Nothing much can be said or predicted about AlfaScene at this point since it’s a brand new site. But keep in mind that back in its day SceneLinks was a good general tracker – if the same folks run AlfaScene, the site is in good hands.

AlfaScene is now online – SceneLinks.Ro returns

Several hours ago we reported about the leaking of Empire : Total War on BitTorrent. Although the game is undoubtedly a great hit, it isn’t without its share of issues. A lot of people who are using the pirated (cracked) version of the game by Razor1911 seem to be having problems. Those who actually purchased the game on Steam have reportedly run into a few problems as well. Given below are some of the issues reported by users of both the cracked and legitimate versions of Empire : Total War.

UPDATE: An update patch has been released for this game. Before you try any of the fixes mentioned in this article, update your game to the latest build and check if the problems are fixed. If you are using the pirated version, a cracked patch has been released by RazorDox – read all about it here.

Note that you may not encounter none, some or all of the problems mentioned below – user experience seem to vary from each installation. Also, not that some of these problems may exist in the legitimate version of the game as well. We cannot guarantee that the fixes mentioned in the article will solve all your problems – sometimes they will and sometimes they won’t.

Sound issues, missing sounds and other audio related problems

Problem: Missing sound effects. You may encounter missing or no sound effects with Empire : Total War. For example, when you give the command for a unit to march, you may not hear the corresponding sound effect. Some have reported missing sounds from horses, swords, cannons, etc as well.

UPDATE 8/03 (Working Solution): Search TPB for "etw_sounds_sfx.pack", download it and replace the sounds_sfx.pack file in the game's installation folder.

Solution 1 (Untested): Note that I have not tested this solution myself. Backup all replaced files before testing his method.

1. Download the Empire : Total War Demo and install it (It’s a free Steam download).
2. In the Demo installation directory, locate the file demo3.pack. Rename the file to sounds_sfx.pack
3. Browse to the installation directory of the full game (not the demo). Replace the sounds_sfx.pack file located in the full install dir using the renamed filed created at step 2.
4. Run the game

Solution 2 (New/Updated) : Download the “Empire: Total War sound fix for all releases” which can be found on public BitTorrent trackers.

Problem: Missing voice acting and missing/skipping advisor messages

Solution: See solution 2 for Missing sound effects problem (above)

Crash to desktop (CTD), freezes, installer issues and hangs

Problem: Some users (both pirated and legitimate) have experienced crashes with the game when trying to start a new campaign (for example when trying to start the road to independence campaign) while some have reported crashes after the first battle. Some others have experienced the game crashing or freezing at the loading screen or just randomly.

Solution: No direct solution yet. Keep in mind that updating DirectX, Microsoft .NET Framework and your system drivers will always help at least minimize the chances of random crashes.

UPDATED Alternative Solution: Here is something you can try to avoid the crash at road to independence campaign as well as maybe installer crashes. This is for the pirated version of the game. No guarantee that this’ll work – worth a shot anyways.

1. Uninstall the game if you have already installed it. Delete all copied cracks or any other modified files.
2. Create a new folder for the game to be installed. Copy all modified/cracked files to this location before installing the game.
3. Install the game to the folder created at step 2. When the installer prompts for files on disk 2, point to them in the following order: 1. _0.sid 2. _1.sid 3. _2.sid 4. _2.sid
4. Rename and Replace the sounds_sfx file with the one in demo as per instructions given in the sound issues section above.

Problem: Installer crashes before completion. If you are using Windows 7 Beta (and even on Vista and XP in some instances), you might experience crashes with the ETW installer, specially at the end of disk1 or disk2 installation.

Solution: When the installer prompts you for the installation disk, make sure you type the full path (Ex- X:\Empire Total War_disk1_0.sid). If you press the browse button or type and incomplete path, the installer will crash. May or may not work for OS versions other than Windows 7 as well. Keep in mind that the installer may take a long time to complete – this is normal.

Steam related errors and issues

It’s not only pirates who are suffering from ETW glitches. Legitimate buyers who downloaded the game from Steam have had their share of problems as well.

Problem: Missing textures, cannot launch the game from Steam, error messages ‘empire.exe caused an error….’, etc

Solution: The above problems may have something to do with Steam not downloading all of the game files correctly. Launch Steam, Right click on Empire: Total War, go to properties. Open the ‘local files’ tab and verify the integrity of game cache. Re-Download any files if required.

Performance enhancements and software/drivers for error free Empire : Total War game experience

Solutions for Empire : Total War sound problems, crashes, display issues & errors

Year 2008 could be termed as an year when SecuROM DRM got pwned at the hands of scene and p2p groups. It looks as if year 2009 will be the year that Steam got raped. One of the most anticipated games of this year, Creative Assembly’s Empire : Total War has been cracked by veteran scene group Razor1911 and leaked on the internet right on the game’s North American release date. It looks as if the leaked version is the Special Force Edition of the game which has some additional elite units not present in the regular Empire : Total War.
Update: Those having sound, crashing, missing textures and other problems with the game, read this article.

Empire : Total War is distributed exclusively via Steam, the digital content distribution platform which was once thought ‘uncrackable’ by many.  Razor1911’s release includes a full DVD Image of the game (2 DVDs – 11.8GB), a custom installer as well as a cracked exe which either bypasses or removes the Steam protection altogether.

Razor1911’s release was leaked from scene topsites into private torrent trackers just a few minutes after it was pre’d:

Personally, I’ve been dying to get my hands on this game ever since it was announced several months ago. If you think turn based strategy games are not your thing, just give this one a go – chances are that you’ll get addicted to it. Highly recommended title for any PC gamer folks (watch the trailers here)!

Pirates crack Empire : Total War steam protection

As usual, our latest post about Blackcats games proved to be hugely popular – the article registered several thousand additional reads and many had emailed us asking for BCG referrals. Sorry folks – we will not be giving away BCG referrals anytime soon so don’t waste your time. At the same time, note that BCG is not the planet’s only dedicated games tracker. Today we are going to talk about SeedGames, a relatively new specialized console and PC games site that everyone can get in for free.

SeedGames, which is around 1 month old (as of 4/3/2009), appears to have Swedish origins. Even so, the site interface, messages, forum and pretty much everything else is in 100% English. As a specialized tracker that’s only about 2 months old, SeedGames has some pretty impressive stats – there are already close to 3000 members and the site tracks over 850 torrents (at time of this post).

As for the content on SeedGames, it tracks console, PC and Mac releases (See categories section below for more information). Majority of the torrents currently online are of newly released games – however, they do have an interesting looking ‘Retro’ section which is continuously being expanded. Judging by the ‘uploader standards’ page on SeedGames, new scene releases are encouraged.

There are some free leech torrents and double upload enabled torrents online at SeedGames. A few days ago, the entire site was put on free leech for three straight days which was pretty cool.

As we mentioned earlier the site is currently open for public signups. The current user limit is set to 3000 – if this limit is not increased, that means there is room for around 220 more users on the tracker. New users start with 2GB upload credit as well as invites. Check it out.

SeedGames – PC and Console games torrent tracker – Signups open

Although I don’t use it anymore, there was a time when NOD32 was used as my primary security software. My overall experience with this product is good – it caught most of the viruses and other baddies that came its way and most importantly, it never was a resource hog like many other modern AV software. ESET have silently released the first final build of  NOD32 v4.0, the next major upgrade in NOD32 AV product series.

 

It looks like ESET have made improvements to the scan engine (SSL scanning, etc), enhanced the e-mail scanning (added support for more mail clients) and most importantly included a new feature called the ‘Removable Media Security’. This is aimed at stopping viruses that spread via removable drives such as USB flash drives (i really hate these type of autorun worms and Trojans) and should be welcome news for many readers who are plagued by such viruses. 

It’s only been a about a day since the release of the final build and I have not managed to find any cracks for this software yet. Expect many someone to crack NOD32 v4.0 entirely or release update workarounds, unlimited trial hacks, 3rd party update server hacks, etc soon, given the product’s huge popularity even among pirates.

ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus 4.0.314 Final Released

We’ve posted about several different dedicated music torrent trackers in the past but I don’t think a site dedicated to punk/ska/hardcore music has been mentioned before. Punk Torrents is a forum based private torrent tracker that has a lot torrents (audio and some music videos) related to punk, ska and hardcore music genres. If you are a fan of these genres, good news is that this site is currently open for public registrations.

Although you may have not heard of this tracker before, Punk Torrents is not a small community. As of 3/1/2009, this site has over 45000 members and tracks over 10100 torrents (note that the inactive account deletion period is really long on this tracker). As for the content on PT, it’s mostly audio (music). There is however a video section where videos of live performances, etc are also being uploaded to.  Majority of the torrents on PunkTorrents seem to be good quality user uploads.

In addition to the torrent tracker, PunkTorrents has a great forum complete with active members, requests, offers and several other features. Users could even make requests through one of the forum threads.

As mentioned earlier, signups for this tracker are currently open. If you are a fan of punk/ska music genre, go ahead and create an account when you can. PunkTorrents is known to close public signups suddenly.

Punk Torrents – Punk, Ska, Hardcore music tracker signups open

Blackcats-Games or BCG, is a private BitTorrent site that is considered by many as the king of all games trackers. Although the site has been open for signup several months ago, public registrations have been disabled throughout 2009. As we reported earlier, BCG uses the referrals feature in place of the usual private tracker invite system. If you are an existing BCG member, here is some good news – all current members of the tracker have been given 1 referral.

A PM sent by BCG owner stoi explains the terms and conditions associated with newly issued referral in detail:

Yes I know I am very impatient, I have just give everyone on the site 1 referral.
Unless anything drastic happens with them, you have till the 31st March to use it, if you have not used it by then, you will loose it.
Remember though, if you invite a bad member, cheat etc then you will get 100gig on your download, if you sell, trade, or do a giveaway on a public forum, and we catch you, then you will loose your account, and your details will be passed onto other sites as well.
So just be sensible, all we ask is that you bring a good member in, how hard can that really be.

Blackcats-Games Tracker – Referrals added again

Release groups from the warez scene are right on top of the piracy pyramid – there is no doubt about that. But ‘the scene’ is not a bunch of geeks releasing leaked material randomly. Scene groups are very well organized and they have their own standards and rules. This is one of the reasons why scene releases are of great quality (identical to the original in most cases), even though they are pirated material. For those interested, here are the new scene standards for releasing XViD encoded videos (movies, TV shows, etc).

At a glance, The XviD Releasing Standards 2009 (TXD2K9) does not seem to introduce drastic changes over the previously declared rule set regarding XViD format. Even the min/max file size for movie releases (700MB/1.4GB) remain the same. Most of the rules mentioned here won’t mean anything to the average torrenter (they are meant to be read by sceners in the first place). But these regulations do improve the overall quality of a release – for example an XViD encode that follows proper scene standards will play on any XViD compatible device (and not just on selected players as in the case with most homemade rips).

Orbit Downloader 2.8.6 – Rapidshare, flash and streaming media downloader

Out of the several thousands private BitTorrent trackers out there, very few specialize in niches such as lifestyle content. The Place.bz is one such private tracker. From Food, Drinking and Cooking to Magic Illusions, this tracker has a wide array of content including videos, e-books and audio files related to day to day human life. The site has been closed for a while now but that does not mean you cannot get in. In fact, you can get invited for free via their IRC invites system.

How to get invited to ThePlace.bz

1. You need to get an IRC client installed. If you don’t already have one installed, we recommend you install mIRC. mIRC download links and a brief tutorial can be found here.
2. Once IRC client is set up, change you nickname to whatever nickname you want to have on ThePlace tracker (in mIRC, nickname can be changed in Tools—>Options menu.
3. Join ThePlace.BZ invites channel. This is located on IRC server irc.theplace.bz:6667 and the channel name is #invites. If you are using mIRC click on this direct link irc://irc.theplace.bz/invites to visit the channel. 
4. Don’ PM anyone just yet. First read ThePlace FAQ and Rules.
5. Now visit www.theplace.bz/app.php. Read the background section carefully and answer the questions as instructed. Note that you need to answer each and every one of these (Write the answers in a text editor such as Notepad). 
6. Once done answering, head back to the IRC room and paste your answers along with the question number in the main channel (don’t PM). Wait for someone to respond – do not leave the channel till you have got confirmation on your new ThePlace account.

How to get a free invite to ThePlace.BZ lifestyle tracker

As you may already be aware, ScL tracker usually removes invites after a certain time period. For example during their 2nd phase of expansion, every user on the tracker were given 3 invites each. These had to be used within 10 days and if unused during this time, the invites were removed from the user’s account. Did you know that there is a simple method that allows you to retain invites even after the allowed time period?

   

From what I've seen, this seems to be a popular hack among ScL members.

1. Visit your invites page (invite.php) and create invitation codes from all available invites.
2. Do not give away the codes just yet (that is, if you want to retain the invites). Wait for the automatic invite removal deadline to pass.
3. Wait 24-36 hours after the deadline is passed and visit your invite.php page again.
4. Now revert all invitation codes you generated at step 1 back into invites. 

I could not find a tracker rule (on faq.php, rules.php or on forum) that prohibits the use of this method. The staff may or may not be aware of its existence - proceed at your own risk.

How to keep SCL invites beyond the allowed time period

It’s been about two weeks since Warhammer 40000 : Dawn of War 2 was released. W40K : DoW2 had multiple ‘editions’ released to the public. For example gamers who pre-ordered the game from services such as Gamestop, EBgames, Amazon, Direct2Drive, HMV, etc could unlock several bonus special features such as extra chapters, extra maps, unique items and extra colors (paints). Did you know that even those who did not pre-order the game could unlock these options on the regular version of the game?

I found this while surfing CS.RIN.RU - a famous Steam underground community from where one of the first working Steam hacks for FEAR2 originated. There is a thread on CS.RIN.RU’s English forums which describes in detail how you can unlock bonus content in Warhammer 40000 : Dawn of War 2. This thread also includes download links for all required files.

1. Create an account on CS.RIN.RU English forums. Registration URL: http://cs.rin.ru/forum/ucp.php?mode=register
2. Login with the newly created account.
3. Visit this thread and follow all the instructions carefully. There are 2-3 pages of user comments which I strongly recommend you read before applying the hack. 

Note: Some (not all) users have had problems running this on Windows XP. I tried it on Vista 32-bit and it worked just fine. Read the user comments on the thread if you encounter problems. Chances are that your question has already been answered.

What additional content is in Warhammer 40000 : Dawn of War 2 pre-order, bonus, promotional editions?

This is actually not an easy question to answer since there are several different versions of the game each with different features. From what we heard, the total promotional content included is as follows:

• 23 Unique Items
• 7 Space Marines Chapters
• 28 Extra Colors
• 1 Extra Multiplayer Map

I don’t know for sure which of these features the hack above unlocks. It may unlock all or it may unlock only some of these – either way it works and is actually pretty cool.
