Sign in to your work or school account using two-step verification
Applies To
Microsoft Entra Verified IDTo increase the security of your work or school account, your organization may require two steps to sign in.
You may not be able to turn this setting off, but you can choose which devices are set up to help you sign in.
Go to mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and sign in with your Entra ID.
Select Add sign-in method.
Select from the list of sign-in methods available and supported by your organization.
Important: With two-step verification, you always need two forms of identification. This means that if you lose your phone, your password alone won't get you back into your account. For that reason, we strongly recommend you have three different sign-in methods associated with your account.
What is a two-step verification?
With two-step verification, you'll get a security code to your email, phone, or authenticator app every time you sign in on a device that isn't trusted.
