3/5. Just tragedy after tragedy. I almost threw my kindle across the room at the end because WHAT KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT?! Anyway, 3 stars because it made me cry lol.

Excellent - could not put it down. Learned much about the women who served in Vietnam and the issues they ( and all veterans) faced when they came home.

I urge readers to return to this classic many of us read as middle or high schoolers. I appreciate the language, narrative voice, timeless themes, colorful characters, and overall plot of this classic masterpiece.

Very easy read about a woman fleeing with her daughter from an abusive marriage. Though not feeling very strong, she will do anything to protect her daughter. Amanda needs to learn to trust again and regain her sense of identity.
