Guest List features some of our favorite artists filling us in on some of their favorite things, along with other random bits. This edition features hypnotic electronic act Factory Floor, whose self-titled debut album is out now on DFA.

Strangest Display of Affection From a Fan

Nic Colk Void: I’ve had a few boys jump up on stage and take down their trousers. I don’t know whether it’s to show their appreciation or to scare me; if you were going down a street and someone did that to you, that’d be against the rules. I just try to look the other way.

Gabriel Gurnsey: Once we were at a rehearsal and loads of people were taking their clothes off in the corner—they were getting so lost in the music that they just started stripping.

My Worst Habit

Dominic Butler: I lie about everything. Even things I don’t need to. No, I don’t, actually. I’m not a liar. I used to be, but I’m not anymore. I’m not. Honestly.

GG: Smoking. It’s just disgusting.

Biggest Pet Peeve

NCV: Gabe smoking.

Last Great Movie I Saw

NCV: I watched Cast Away on TV in a Netherlands hotel room.

GG: The Guilt Trip with Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen

Favorite Thing I Did This Year

GG: I got a dog. Halfway through making the album, I was losing touch with reality. I wanted a dog to get me out of the studio a bit, so I went to look at an English bulldog. He came shuffling out, and I took him home. His name’s Vince. He’s mellow and lazy, which suits me.

My Dream Tattoo

GG: I’m going to get a massive picture of Vince on my back.

My Role Model

GG: Vince

Dream Collaboration

DB: Grace Jones

The Best Birthday I’ve Had

GG: I only remember one birthday, when I was around 10. My parents had an old hand dryer—one where you crank the handle and put clothes through it—and someone put my finger into it. But I remember really enjoying the party.

DB: When I was about eight, I got an army jumper for my birthday. I got the arm wet, so I put it on the fire to dry it and burnt it. For a year, I had to hide the jumper because I couldn’t tell my step-mum that I burnt the arm of it. She kept asking me when I was going to wear it.

Last Thing I Listened To

DB: "The Lines It Curves" by David Lynch

NCV: Brian Eno’s Before and After Science

GG: “Black Floral Lace Blindfold” by Siege of Troy

The Best Thing I Bought This Year

NCV: A pair of trousers in New York. Before we go on tour, I go on a massive online shopping spree and then I end up sending it all back and just wear t-shirts and leggings. It’s a bit of panic. I find comfort in the thought that I’ll buy something that’ll answer all my problems.

Favorite TV Show____

GG: Game of Thrones. Musicians have to have something insane and pointless to escape into.

The Worst Part About Being on Tour

GG: Being in airports. There’s nothing to do.

NCV: Especially when you’ve got no money.

Favorite Recent Songs

GG: “No. 1 Against the Rush” by Liars

Chicken or Shrimp?

DB and NCV: Shrimp

GG: We’re shrimp all the way.
