Sora video generation is temporarily unavailable for new accounts, except Pro
We’re currently experiencing heavy traffic and have temporarily disabled Sora video generation for new accounts. If you’ve never logged into Sora before, you can still generate images — and if you're on the Pro tier, you can continue generating videos as usual.
Sora is able to create images using ChatGPT Images, enabling you to generate images that leverage our improved text rendering, instruction following, and customization options. Once you’ve created images with Sora, you can seamlessly generate videos with those images.
Please note that you will need a Plus, Team, or Pro account to generate videos with Sora. ChatGPT Free tier users can generate a limited amount of images per day.
To begin, select Image in the prompt window and enter a description of the image you want to generate. Once you enter your prompt, ChatGPT Images will generate the image as you’ve described it. Depending on the complexity of your instructions, ChatGPT may take up to two minutes to generate an image.
Before generating your images, you can set your desired aspect ratio to any of the following:
3:2
1:1
2:3
You can also select the number of image generations you want outputted. ChatGPT Pro users can generate up to 4 images at a time.
Sora enables you to leverage its tools to generate images. Once you’ve generated an image, you can open the image and select Remix or press R to describe changes and generate a new image based on it.
You can also seamlessly generate videos with those images. Simply open an image and select Create video or press V to get started.
