In 2024, GAC member companies accounted for 62% of Canadian vehicle sales – with more than 1,152,000 vehicles sold and 70% of vehicle production – with more than 957,000 vehicles produced.
GAC member companies and dedicated automotive parts suppliers directly employ 110,486 people in Canada in dealerships, vehicle assembly plants, national and regional offices, captive finance companies, and transportation and logistics facilities. The activities of GAC member companies support an additional 106,773 jobs across the country. The latter includes more than 17,690 automotive parts manufacturing jobs in Ontario and Quebec.
The activities of GAC member companies contribute more than $24.9 billion annually to the Canadian GDP. Nearly $10 billion of these contributions to the GDP are associated with the direct activities of GAC member companies. These activities generate more than $10.6 billion in government revenue annually.
