Hi All:

I have a Western Digital hard drive that was not in service. If I put it into service, how can I determine how many hours are on this hard drive?

Thank you in advance.

This is posted in the "Networking" forum... by "in service", do you mean as networked attached storage?

I posted this question about hard drives because network attached storage is often discussed. I hoped an individual might have insight on how to determine time on an individual drive. Does this help why I posted here?

To my knowledge, hard drives don't track the number of hours they've been used.
