Foundation Dev Blog: Slideshows

If you've ever wanted to customize the text portion of your Content or Slideshow URLs from within the Foundation Editor, then we're happy to announce this new feature detailed below.

About the Basename

The Basename is the text phrase / slug within your URLs. Its value is derived from the Headline or Meta Title, and is automatically set prior to a post going live:

Here's an example of a Headline and its respective URL with the Basename portion in bold:

Headline: Moody Teen Meets His Estranged Father and Is Upset by It

URL:
https://d.net/tatooine/moody-teen-meets-his-estranged-father-and-is-upset-by-it/Content?oid=5

When you next access the Foundation Editor, you'll see a new group of field options at the bottom of your work. These add the ability for you to customize the meta fields to fine tune the SEO and definitions of an article, blog post, or slideshow.


Here's a brief overview of each field and how it can override the default behavior of the meta fields:
