Continue efforts to build an intentional, well-established, exemplary social and emotional learning (SEL) program that strategically provides cross-divisional support coupled with robust professional learning and resources for staff, students, and families.

  1. ESS data analysis with PBIS and MTSS Team to plan appropriate interventions/supports
  2. Staff recognition program and self-care opportunities
  3. Daily morning meetings with targeted SEL lessons
  4. Professional learning throughout the school year with an SEL focus

Equity 2.A - Multi-tiered System of Supports

High-quality tier 1 instruction for all students that includes targeted small groups, grade-level curriculum, ongoing formative assessments, and progress monitoring.  This will include the adoption of new literacy and math curriculum.

  1. Refine CLT implementation - utilizing the CLT rubric, developing a revised agenda, and adding an additional day to meet
  2. Half-day plannings after every nine weeks to provide grade levels the time to utilize data protocols to analyze district assessments, as well as "unpack" the upcoming EL module
  3. EL implementation of instructional resources
  4. Implementation of new Math standards and resources
  5. Continue MTSS implementation (utilizing MTSS Air Rubric)
  6. Utilize peer observations, and classroom walkthroughs/feedback to enhance and monitor Tier 1 instruction

Burnette Elementary will increase the percentage of students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade scoring at the Proficient and Distinguished Level on iReady Reading and Math.

Reduce disruptions to learning resulting from exclusionary discipline actions by implementing evidence-based strategies (restorative practices).

  1. Development of a local Restorative Practice Team that will attend district trainings
  2. Training of classroom teachers in Restorative Practices
  3. New Teacher Orientation, mentoring, and ongoing professional learning to support effective classroom strategies
  4. Addition of a local Behavior Coach to support classroom teachers

Burnette Elementary will reduce the number of minor behavior incidents (documented in Synergy).

Effectiveness 3.A - Results-Based Evaluation System

The use of a redesigned RBES which includes equal elements of academic growth and supportive community promotes continuous improvement through the identification of strengths and weaknesses and communicates the annual change in school performance in both academic growth and creating a supportive community.

  1. Professional learning that focuses on the effective use of data to determine targeted interventions
  2. Half-day plannings after every nine weeks to provide grade levels the time to utilize data protocols to analyze district assessments to determine future instruction
  3. Continued support provided to grade levels from the MTSS team to monitor student progress
  4. Refinement of Burnette's Keys to Success to establish clear instructional expectations which will be the focus of instructional walks
